I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.

I will send them hunger. It will make them weak. I will send terrible sickness. I will send deadly plagues. I will send wild animals that will tear them apart. Snakes that glide through the dust will bite them.

如果我使猛獸經過那地，蹂躪那地，使它荒涼，以致因為這些獸的緣故，沒有人敢經過；

我要命定四種刑罰對付他們，就是刀劍殺戮，屍體被野狗拖走，被空中的飛鳥和地上的走獸吞吃與毀滅。”這是耶和華的宣告。

如果我出到田間，就看見那些被刀劍所殺的人；如果我走進城裡，就看見因饑荒而來的各種疾病。連先知和祭司也流亡到他們素不認識的地方。’”

就是勇士的利箭，和羅騰木燒的炭火。

我們因飢餓而發燒，我們的皮膚好像火爐一般的熱。

也不必害怕黑暗中流行的瘟疫，或是在正午把人毀滅的毒病。

“他們都必死於致命的疫症，沒有人為他們哀哭，他們的屍體也沒有人埋葬，必在地面上成為糞肥。他們必被刀劍和饑荒所滅，他們的屍體成了空中飛鳥和地上走獸的食物。”

如果他們躲在迦密山頂，就是在那裡，我必搜尋他們，抓他們出來；如果他們要躲避我，藏在海底，就是在那裡，我必命令蛇去咬他們；

主耶和華這樣說：“我打發刀劍、饑荒、猛獸和瘟疫這四樣可怕的刑罰臨到耶路撒冷，要把人和牲畜從那裡剪除的時候，那情況豈不更嚴重嗎？

豺狼必與羊羔在一起吃東西，獅子要像牛一樣吃草，蛇必以塵土為食物。在我聖山的各處，牠們都必不作惡，也不害物；這是耶和華說的。”

瘟疫在他面前行走，災病在他腳下發出。

他看安居為美，他看肥地為佳，他屈肩負重，成了服苦的奴僕。

密雲、冰雹與火炭，從他面前的光輝經過。耶和華在天上打雷，至高者發出聲音，發出冰雹和火炭。他射出箭來，使它們四散；他連連發出閃電，使它們混亂。

渴望耶和華日子來臨的人，你們有禍了！耶和華的日子對你們有甚麼好處呢？那日是黑暗，沒有光明的日子。那日就像一個人避過了獅子，卻遇上了熊；回到家裡，手靠在牆上，卻被蛇咬。

耶和華神對蛇說：“因為你作了這事，就必在所有的牲畜和田野的活物中受咒詛；你要用肚子行走，一生都吃泥土。

你在仇敵圍困和窘迫你的時候，要吃你身所生的，就是吃耶和華你的神賜給你的兒女的肉。

嬰兒的舌頭因乾渴而緊貼上膛；孩童求餅，卻沒有人分給他們。那些從前吃美食的，現今都在街上孤單淒涼；那些從前在豪奢生活中長大的，現今卻在垃圾堆中打滾。我眾民（“我眾民”原文作“我子民的女子”）的罪孽比所多瑪的罪惡更大；所多瑪在轉眼之間傾覆了，儘管無人攻擊它。錫安的貴族素來比雪更明亮，比奶更潔白；他們的身體比紅寶石更紅潤，他們的樣貌像藍寶石一樣美麗。現在他們的面貌比煤炭還黑，在街上再沒有人認得他們；他們皮包骨頭，枯瘦如柴。那些死於刀下的比餓死的還好；餓死的因缺乏田間的出產，就日漸消瘦而死亡。

耶和華必用癆病、熱病、炎症、瘧疾、乾旱、旱風和霉爛打擊你；它們必追趕你，直到你滅亡。
