The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you.

永恆主你的上帝將他們交在你面前去擊敗的時候，你務要把他們都盡行殺滅歸神；不可和他們立約，也不可恩待他們。

只是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你以為業的這些別族之民的城市中、凡有氣息的、一個你也不要讓他活着；只要將他們盡行殺滅歸神，將赫人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人、都殺滅淨盡，照永恆主你的上帝所吩咐你的，

你要小心、不可和你所去到的那地的居民立約，恐怕那會餌誘你入於網羅。他們的祭壇你們要拆毁，他們的崇拜柱子你們要打碎，他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要砍下來，（不可拜別的神，因為那名為忌邪者永恆主是忌邪的上帝），恐怕你和那地的居民立約，眾民就變節去服事他們的神，獻祭給他們的神，若有人請你，你便喫他的祭物，恐怕你給你的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻，而兒子的女兒又變節去服事他們的神，便使你的子孫都變節去服事他們的神。

不可跟他們和他們的神立約。別讓他們住在你的地上，恐怕他們使你犯罪敵擋我；你若事奉他們的神，這就會餌誘你入於網羅。』

就要把那地所有的居民從你們面前趕出去，毁壞他們一切的石頭鏨像，毁壞他們一切鑄成的像，又拆毁他們一切的邱壇；你們就要取得那地以為業，住在那裏，因為我把那地給了你們去擁為己業。你們要按家族憑拈鬮承受那地以為業；人多的、要把產業多分給他們，人少的、要把產業少分給他們；拈出哪一塊地給哪一族，就要歸哪一族；你們要按父系支派而承受產業。你們若不把那地的居民從你們面前趕出去，你們所讓存留的人就會成了你們眼中的刺、肋下的荊棘，也會在你們所住的地擾害你們。並且我曾經想要怎樣待他們的、我也必照樣待你們。』

永恆主你的上帝必將他們交在你面前，使他們大大驚慌潰亂，直到他們都消滅。他也必將他們的王交在你手中；你就從天下除滅他們的名；必沒有一個人能在你面前站立得住，直到你把他們都消滅掉。他們的神的雕像、你們要用火去燒；那上頭的金銀、你不可貪愛，也不可取為己有，免得你因此而陷入網羅；這原是永恆主你的上帝所厭惡的。

你不要懼怕他們；要牢牢記住永恆主你的上帝向法老和全埃及所行過的事，
