所以，现在你们要为自己写下这首诗歌来，教导以色列人，放在他们口中，使这首诗歌成为我反对他们的见证。

然而我们晓得，凡律法所说的，都是对在律法之下的人说的，好让每一个人都没有话可讲，使全世界的人都伏在神的审判之下。没有一个人可以靠行律法，在神面前得称为义，因为藉着律法，人对于罪才有充分的认识。

“你们去，为了我、为了人民、为了犹大全国，因着所发现的这书卷上的话求问耶和华，因为耶和华向我们所发的怒气极大；这是因着我们的祖先没有听从这律法书上的话，没有照着所有写给我们的去行。”于是希勒家祭司、亚希甘、亚革博、沙番、亚撒雅去见女先知户勒大。她就是掌管礼服的沙龙的妻子，沙龙是哈珥哈斯的孙子、特瓦的儿子。她住在耶路撒冷第二区；他们就把事情都告诉了她。她对他们说：“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘告诉那差你们到我这里来的人说：耶和华这样说：看哪，我要照着犹大王所念那书卷上所有的话，使灾祸降临在这地方和它的居民身上，因为他们背弃了我，向别的神焚香。他们所行的一切都使我发怒，因此我的怒火要在这地方燃点，不会熄灭。至于那差你们来求问耶和华的犹大王，你们要这样对他说：耶和华以色列的神这样说：有关你所听见的话，你听见我攻击这地方和它的居民的话，就是他们要成为荒凉，受咒诅，你的心就顺服，在我面前谦卑，又撕裂自己的衣服，在我面前哀哭，我已经听到了。这是耶和华的宣告。

他们把献给耶和华殿的银子拿出来的时候，希勒家祭司发现了耶和华藉摩西所传的律法书。希勒家对书记沙番说：“我在耶和华的殿里发现了律法书。”希勒家就把书交给沙番。

希勒家大祭司对书记沙番说：“我在耶和华的殿里找到了一卷律法书。”他把书卷交给沙番；沙番就阅读那书卷。书记沙番来见王，向王回报说：“你的臣仆已经把殿里的银子清点，交在耶和华殿里管理工匠的人手中。”书记沙番又告诉王说：“希勒家大祭司交给我一卷书卷。”书记沙番就在王面前诵读那书卷。王听见律法书上的话的时候，就撕裂自己的衣服。

约柜里面只有两块石版，这两块石版在以色列人出埃及地以后，耶和华与他们立约的时候，摩西在何烈山放在那里的。

我藉着律法已经向律法死了，使我可以向神活着。
