It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask,‘ Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’

也不是在海外，使你说：‘谁替我们过海取了来，使我们听见可以遵行呢？’

不在海外、勿意謂誰能濟海、攜之以至、俾我聽從。

不在海外、致爾自謂誰為我過海取之至、俾我得聞而行之、

Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask,“ Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”

And it isn’t beyond the ocean. So you don’t have to ask,“ Who will go across the ocean to get it? Who will announce it to us so we can obey it?”

Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say,‘ Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’

And it is not across the sea so that you have to ask,‘ Who will cross the sea, get it for us, and proclaim it to us so that we may follow it?’

Nor is it beyond the sea, that you could say,‘ Who will cross the sea for us and get it for us and proclaim it to us, so that we may follow it?’

Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say,‘ Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?

And it is not across the sea so that you have to ask,‘ Who will cross the sea, get it for us, and proclaim it to us so that we may follow it?’

Neither[ is] it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

And it is not across the sea, as though one must say,“ Who will cross over to the other side of the sea and get it for us and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”

Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say,“ Who will go over the sea for us, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?”

But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval.”

So I sent for you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here, waiting before God to hear the message the Lord has given you.”

They said,“ We were sent by Cornelius, a Roman officer. He is a devout and God fearing man, well respected by all the Jews. A holy angel instructed him to summon you to his house so that he can hear your message.”

That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him,“ Come over to Macedonia and help us!”

For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it.

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say,“ How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

The queen of Sheba will also stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Now someone greater than Solomon is here— but you refuse to listen.

So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship,and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.The Holy Spirit said to Philip,“ Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked,“ Do you understand what you are reading?”The man replied,“ How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this:“ He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”The eunuch asked Philip,“ Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?”So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said,“ Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.

Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin. By fearing the Lord, people avoid evil.

Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold.Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left.She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying.Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly.
