你们的上帝耶和华将把你们附近各族的城邑赐给你们，你们要将里面有气息的全部消灭。要遵照你们的上帝耶和华的吩咐，彻底灭绝赫人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人，免得他们将祭拜自己神明的可憎习俗传给你们，以致你们得罪你们的上帝耶和华。

以色列人向耶和华许愿说：“要是你将这些人交在我们手中，我们必彻底摧毁他们的城邑。”

耶和华对我说，‘不要怕他，因为我已把他及其众民和土地交在你手中，你要像从前对付希实本的亚摩利王西宏一样对付他。’

他们杀掉城内所有的居民，一个没留，掳掠了城内所有的财物和牲畜。

祂击杀了亚摩利王西宏，因为祂的慈爱永远长存。祂击杀了巴珊王噩，因为祂的慈爱永远长存。祂把他们的土地赐给祂的子民作产业，因为祂的慈爱永远长存。

凡永远献上的，不论是人、牲畜或是田产，都不可卖掉，也不可赎回，因为这一切都属于耶和华，是至圣的。凡永远献上的人不可被赎回，必须被处死。
