So appoint Joshua as the new leader. Help him to be brave. Give him hope and strength. He will take these people across the Jordan. You will see the land. But he will lead them into it to take it as their own.”

The Lord your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the Lord has said.

Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel,“ Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.

Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

Then He inaugurated Joshua the son of Nun, and said,“ Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”

And the Lord said to Moses:“ Take Joshua the son of Nun with you, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him;set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and inaugurate him in their sight.And you shall give some of your authority to him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire before the Lord for him by the judgment of the Urim. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, he and all the children of Israel with him— all the congregation.”So Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation.And he laid his hands on him and inaugurated him, just as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.

And David said to his son Solomon,“ Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God— my God— will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,

which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David,

“ As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.”

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.

And the Lord said to Joshua,“ This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying,‘ When you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan.’”So Joshua said to the children of Israel,“ Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God.”And Joshua said,“ By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites:Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan.Now therefore, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from every tribe.And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap.”So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water( for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

“ Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them— the children of Israel.

Now, my son, may the Lord be with you; and may you prosper, and build the house of the Lord your God, as He has said to you.Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work.Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the Lord be with you.”
