耶和華也因你們的緣故向我發怒，說：『你也不得進入那地。

對他們說：「我已經一百二十歲了，現在不能照常出入。耶和華曾對我說：『你不得過這約旦河。』

他們在米利巴水又惹耶和華發怒，甚至摩西也因他們的緣故受虧損，是因他們觸怒了他的靈，摩西就用嘴說了急躁的話。

耶和華對他說：「這就是我向亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許之地，說：『我必將這地賜給你的後裔。』現在我使你親眼看見了，你卻不得過到那裏去。」

大衛對所羅門說：「我兒啊，我心裏本想為耶和華－我神的名建造殿宇，可是耶和華的話臨到我說：『你流了許多的血，打了多次大仗；你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你在我面前使許多血流在地上。看哪，你要生一個兒子，他必成為安寧的人；我必使他得享安寧，不被四圍仇敵擾亂。他的名字要叫所羅門，在他的日子，我必使以色列平安康泰。

因為你們在以色列人中得罪了我，在尋的曠野，加低斯的米利巴水那裏，在以色列人中沒有尊我為聖。我所賜給以色列人的地，你只可從對面觀看，卻不得進到那裏去。」

「你去對我僕人大衛說：『耶和華如此說：你不可建造殿宇給我居住。

耶和華吩咐摩西說：「你拿着杖去，和你的哥哥亞倫召集會眾，在他們眼前吩咐磐石湧出水來，水就會從磐石流出，給會眾和他們的牲畜喝。」於是摩西遵照耶和華所吩咐他的，從耶和華面前拿了杖去。摩西和亞倫召集會眾到磐石前。摩西對他們說：「聽着，你們這些悖逆的人！我們要叫這磐石流出水來給你們嗎？」摩西舉起手來，用杖擊打磐石兩下，就有許多水流出來，會眾和他們的牲畜都喝了。但是耶和華對摩西、亞倫說：「因為你們不信我，沒有在以色列人眼前尊我為聖，所以你們必不能領這會眾進入我所要賜給他們的地去。」

為了這事，我曾三次求主使這根刺離開我。

他就稍往前走，俯伏在地，禱告說：「我父啊，如果可能，求你使這杯離開我。然而，不是照我所願的，而是照你所願的。」

耶和華對摩西說：「你上這亞巴琳山脈，看我所賜給以色列人的地。看了以後，你也必歸到你祖先那裏，像你哥哥亞倫歸去一樣。因為你們在尋的曠野，當會眾爭鬧的時候，違背了我的命令，在取水之事上沒有在會眾眼前尊我為聖。」這水就是尋的曠野中，加低斯的米利巴水。

他必為我建造殿宇，我必堅定他的王位，直到永遠。我要作他的父，他要作我的子；我必不使我的慈愛離開他，像離開在你以前的那位一樣。

大衛王站起來，說：「我的弟兄，我的百姓啊，請聽我說！我心裏本想建造殿宇，安放耶和華的約櫃，作為我們神的腳凳，並且我已經預備了建造的材料。只是神對我說：『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因你是戰士，流了人的血。』然而，耶和華－以色列的神在我父的全家揀選我作以色列的王，直到永遠。因他揀選猶大為領袖，在猶大家中揀選我父家，在我父的眾兒子裏喜悅我，立我作全以色列的王。

他為我們的過犯受害，為我們的罪孽被壓傷。因他受的懲罰，我們得平安；因他受的鞭傷，我們得醫治。我們都如羊走迷，各人偏行己路；耶和華使我們眾人的罪孽都歸在他身上。

耶穌回答：「你們不知道所求的是甚麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝嗎？」他們對他說：「我們能。」
