“那时，我吩咐你们说：‘耶和华—你们的神已将这地赐给你们为业；你们所有的勇士都要带着兵器，在你们的弟兄以色列人前面过去。

『那時我吩咐你們說：「永恆主你們的上帝已將這地賜給你們去取得它；你們一切有力氣的人都要武裝好，好在你們族弟兄以色列人前面過去。

時、我命爾曰、爾上帝耶和華、既以斯土錫爾為業、爾之勇士、必皆執兵、先爾兄弟以色列人而往、

當時我諭之曰、爾之上帝耶和華雖以斯土錫爾、然爾之軍旅必備以戰、先爾同儕以色列族而遄征、

當時我諭爾曹得斯地之人曰、主爾之天主、既以斯地賜爾為業、爾中所有戰士必執器械、在爾同族同族原文作兄弟以色列人前先往、

I commanded you at that time:“ The Lord your God has given you this land to take possession of it. But all your able- bodied men, armed for battle, must cross over ahead of the other Israelites.

Here is the command I gave at that time to the tribes of Reuben and Gad and half of the tribe of Manasseh. I said,“ The Lord your God has given you this land as your very own. But all your strong men must be prepared for battle. They must cross over ahead of the rest of the Israelites.

“ And I commanded you at that time, saying,‘ The Lord your God has given you this land to possess. All your men of valor shall cross over armed before your brothers, the people of Israel.

“ At that time I gave this command to the tribes that would live east of the Jordan:‘ Although the Lord your God has given you this land as your property, all your fighting men must cross the Jordan ahead of your Israelite relatives, armed and ready to assist them.

“ I commanded you at that time: The LORD your God has given you this land to possess. All your valiant men will cross over in battle formation ahead of your brothers the Israelites.

“ Then I commanded you at that time, saying,‘ The Lord your God has given you this land to possess it; all you valiant men shall cross over armed ahead of your brothers, the sons of Israel.

“ Then I commanded you at that time, saying:‘ The Lord your God has given you this land to possess. All you men of valor shall cross over armed before your brethren, the children of Israel.

And I commanded you at that time, saying, Jehovah your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all the men of valor.

“ I commanded you at that time: The Lord your God has given you this land to possess. All your fighting men will cross over in battle formation ahead of your brothers the Israelites.

And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all[ that are] meet for the war.

At that time I instructed you as follows:“ The LORD your God has given you this land for your possession. You warriors are to cross over before your fellow Israelites equipped for battle.

I commanded you at that time, saying,“ Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it. All of you men of valor shall pass over armed before your brothers, the children of Israel.

摩西說：「如果你們信守承諾，拿起兵器在耶和華面前出戰，你們全軍就要在耶和華面前渡過約旦河，直到祂趕走祂面前的仇敵，征服那地方。之後，你們才可以回家，才算在耶和華和以色列人面前盡了自己的責任，這地方就在耶和華面前歸給你們作產業。但如果你們不守承諾，就是得罪耶和華，必難逃懲罰。你們現在去為家人築城邑，為牛羊建圍欄吧，但別忘了信守承諾。」

呂便支派、迦得支派和瑪拿西半個支派的人照摩西從前的囑咐，帶著兵器走在以色列人的前面。大約有四萬全副武裝的以色列人在耶和華面前過了河，前往耶利哥平原，準備作戰。

約書亞召來了呂便、迦得和瑪拿西半個支派的人來，對他們說：「你們都遵守了耶和華的僕人摩西的一切吩咐，也遵守了我的一切吩咐。這些日子以來，你們從沒有離棄自己的弟兄，遵守了你們的上帝耶和華的吩咐。現在你們的上帝耶和華已經照祂的應許使你們的弟兄安居，你們可以回到約旦河東，到摩西賜給你們作產業的地方。不過，你們要謹遵耶和華的僕人摩西吩咐你們的誡命和律法，要愛你們的上帝耶和華，遵行祂的旨意，聽從祂的命令，忠於祂，全心全意地事奉祂。」於是，約書亞為他們祝福，送他們回去，他們就各自返回家園去了。摩西已經在巴珊把土地分給了瑪拿西半個支派，約書亞把約旦河西的土地分給了瑪拿西另外的半個支派及其他支派。約書亞派他們回家的時候，為他們祝福，說：「現在你們帶著大量的財物、牲畜、金銀、銅、鐵和衣物返回家園，要把從敵人那裡得來的財物分給你們的弟兄。」於是，呂便、迦得和瑪拿西半個支派的人便離開在迦南的示羅的以色列人，返回耶和華藉摩西分配給他們的基列。

約書亞又對呂便支派、迦得支派和瑪拿西半個支派的人說：「你們要牢記耶和華的僕人摩西吩咐你們的話，他說你們的上帝耶和華要把約旦河東面的土地賜給你們，讓你們安居。你們的妻子兒女和牲畜可以留在約旦河東岸摩西分給你們的土地上，但你們當中所有的勇士要帶著兵器先過約旦河，幫助你們的弟兄。要等到你們的上帝耶和華使你們的弟兄像你們一樣得到祂所賜的土地，安居以後，你們才可以回到約旦河東，在耶和華的僕人摩西分給你們的土地上定居。」
