The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

The Lord our God keeps certain things hidden. But he makes other things known to us and to our children forever. He does it so we can obey all the words of this law.

耶穌對他們說：「父憑著自己的權柄所定的時候和日期，不是你們可以知道的。

是他顯明深奧和隱祕的事；他知道黑暗中有什麼，光明也與他同在。

哦，深奧啊！神的智慧和知識的財富！他的判斷是多麼地無法探究，他的道是多麼地無法測度！「到底是誰知道主的心意？是誰做過他的謀士？

耶穌回答他們，說：「天國的奧祕已經賜下來讓你們知道，而沒有賜給那些人；

「到底誰曾知道主的心意？到底誰將教導他呢？」但是我們有基督的心意了。

耶和華與敬畏他的人親密，使他們明白他的約。

我父把一切都交給了我。除了父，沒有人認識子；除了子和子所願意啟示的人，也沒有人認識父。「所有勞苦和背負重擔的人哪，到我這裡來吧！我將使你們得到安息。你們當負起我的軛，向我學，因為我心地柔和、謙卑。這樣，你們就將尋得靈魂的安息。要知道，我的軛是容易負的，我的擔子是輕省的。」

「術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你裡面有聖潔之神的靈，任何奧祕都難不倒你！你就講說我所看到的夢中異象和夢的釋義吧！

聖經都是神所默示的，對於教導、責備、規正、在義中的訓練都是有益處的，

這是為要應驗那藉著先知所說的話：「我要開口，用比喻說出創世以來被隱藏的事。」

讓他們在這奧祕的事上，向天上的神祈求憐憫，免得但以理和他的同伴與巴比倫其餘的智慧人一同滅亡。於是這奧祕的事在夜間的異象中顯明給了但以理；但以理就頌讚天上的神。

因為耶和華憎惡邪僻的人，而與正直的人親密無間。

但這些事被記下來，是要你們相信耶穌就是基督、是神的兒子；並且使你們因著信，就奉他的名有生命。

願榮耀歸於神——他能藉著我的福音和有關耶穌基督的傳道，藉著奧祕的啟示堅固你們。這奧祕亙古以來是隱藏的，然而如今已經得以顯現；並且按照永恆神的命令，藉著先知們的經文顯明了出來。這是為要在萬民中帶來信仰上的順從——

我要開口說比喻，吐露古時的謎題，就是我們所聽過、所知道的，也是我們的祖先向我們講述過的——我們不會向子孫隱瞞，而要向後代講述對耶和華的讚美，講述他的大能和他所行的奇妙作為。他在雅各中立下法度，在以色列中設立律法，這律法是他吩咐我們的祖先教導子孫的，好讓將要出生的後代子孫可以明白，並且起來向他們的子孫講述；這樣他們就把神當作他們的依靠，不會忘記神所行的，而會謹守他的誡命；

但以理在王面前回答說：「王所問的那奧祕的事，沒有智慧人、占卜者、術士或算命者能講明給王。然而天上有一位神，就是顯明奧祕的那一位，他已經使尼布甲尼撒王明白了末後的日子將要發生的事——這就是你在床上所做的夢和腦海中的異象。王啊，你在床上所懷的意念是此後將要發生的事，而顯明奧祕的那一位已經使你明白了將要發生的事！至於那奧祕的事顯明給我，不是因為我比所有的活人更有智慧，而是要使王明白那夢的釋義和王心裡的意念。

當求問神的訓誨和誡命！如果他們不按照這準則說話，他們就沒有曙光。

我想起你裡面那不虛假的信仰，這信仰先是在你外祖母羅伊絲和你母親猶妮絲裡面，我深信也在你裡面。

耶穌說：「就算我願意他一直留到我來的時候，這與你有什麼關係？你跟從我！」

我不再稱你們為奴僕，因為奴僕不知道主人所做的事。我卻稱你們為朋友，因為我把從我父所聽到的一切，都讓你們明白了。
