奉事崇拜他神、素所未識、耶和華亦未嘗聽其服從者、

They went off and worshiped other gods and bowed down to them, gods they did not know, gods he had not given them.

曰、猶大王及耶路撒冷居民歟、宜聽耶和華言、萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、我將降災於斯土、凡聞之者、其耳必震、緣彼與其列祖、及猶大列王棄我、視斯土為異域、焚香於其未識之神、且流無辜之血、徧於斯土、為巴力建崇邱、火焚其子為燔祭、獻於巴力、此事非我所命所言、亦非我心所思、故耶和華曰、時日將至、此地不復稱陀斐特、亦不稱欣嫩子谷、惟稱殺戮谷、我必於斯土、敗猶大及耶路撒冷人之謀、使在敵前仆於鋒刃、及索其命者之手、付其屍於空中之鳥、地上之獸、以為食物、亦使此邑成為怪異、被人嗤笑、凡過之者、因其所遭之禍、必駭異而嗤笑、我必使之食其子女之肉、受窘之際、即被敵與索其命者圍困、危迫之時、食其友朋之肉、言竟、爾則毀其缾、使同行者目擊、告之曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我必如是毀斯民斯邑、若人毀陶人之器、不能復完、人必葬屍於陀斐特、致無隙地、耶和華曰、我必若是待斯土、與其居民、使此邑如陀斐特、耶路撒冷第宅、猶大列王宮室、凡在其上焚香於天象、灌酒於他神、而玷污者、必如陀斐特焉、○

違棄耶和華、其祖之上帝、即導之出埃及者、而從四周諸族之神、向之跪拜、激耶和華怒、違棄耶和華、而崇事巴力、暨亞斯他錄、

民簡新神、戰及邑門、以色列族四萬人中、干戈無存、

萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、我所降於耶路撒冷、及猶大諸邑之災、爾目睹之、今為荒蕪、無人居處、乃因其人行惡、以激我怒、焚香以事他神、即彼與爾、及爾列祖所未識者、我遣我僕諸先知詣爾、夙興而遣之曰、噫、此可憎之事、我所疾者、爾勿行之、惟彼不從、不側耳以聽、不改其惡仍焚香於他神、故我傾怒洩忿於猶大諸邑、及耶路撒冷街衢、如火之焚、使之荒寂、有如今日、

此因以色列人獲罪於其上帝耶和華、即導之出埃及、脫於埃及王法老手者、彼乃寅畏他神、循耶和華於以色列人前、所逐異族之例、及以色列諸王所立之例、以色列人私行不正之事、背逆其上帝耶和華、於其諸邑、自戍樓至堅城、建築崇邱、在山岡之上、綠樹之下、立柱像與木偶、焚香於諸崇邱、效耶和華於其前所逐之異族、行諸惡事、激耶和華之怒、崇事偶像、即耶和華所言不可為者、耶和華藉諸先知先見、戒以色列與猶大人曰、當轉離爾之惡途、守我誡命典章、循我所命爾列祖、及藉我僕眾先知授爾之法、惟彼弗聽、強項不馴、如其不信厥上帝耶和華之列祖、違棄上帝之典章、及與其列祖所立之約、並戒之之言、從虛無而變為虛妄、效四周異邦、即耶和華所命勿效之者、違棄其上帝耶和華一切誡命、鑄二犢像、製造木偶、崇拜天象、奉事巴力、使其子女經火、用卜筮邪術、自鬻而行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、耶和華震怒以色列人、擯於其前、惟遺猶大支派而已、

耶和華必散爾於列邦、自地極至天涯、在彼奉事木石之神、爾與爾祖所未識者、

行耶和華所惡、先知耶利米以耶和華言諭之、彼不自卑、尼布甲尼撒使其指上帝而誓、彼仍背叛、強其項、剛厥心、不歸服以色列之上帝耶和華、且諸祭司長與民眾、大干罪戾、從異邦可憎之事、污耶和華在耶路撒冷區別為聖之室、其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜恤其民、與其居所、夙興遣使以戒之、惟彼訕笑上帝之使、藐視其言、譏其先知、致耶和華之怒及於其民、無可救治、故上帝使迦勒底王來攻之、以刃戮其丁壯於其聖室、不恤幼男少女、老人白叟、俱付其手、
