我同你們立約宣誓，是恐怕你們中間有人、或男人或女人、或家族或族派、今日心裏偏離了永恆主我們的上帝，去事奉那些國的神；又恐怕你們中間有惡根、結出毒菜和苦堇為果實來，

此約之立、以免爾中男女、宗族支派、今日中心違棄我上帝耶和華、往事斯族之神、致有荼毒之根、生於爾中、

爾中之男女、宗族支派、其心毋違我上帝耶和華、而奉事他邦之上帝、爾中之人、其毒毋太苦、如茵蔯之根、

如爾中或男或女、或宗族、或支派、今日心棄主我之天主、往事此諸邦之神、若有苦毒之根、生於爾中、

Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

Make sure there isn’t a man or woman among your families or tribes who turns away from the Lord our God. No one must worship the gods of those nations. Make sure that kind of worship doesn’t spread like bitter poison through your whole community.

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,

I am making this covenant with you so that no one among you— no man, woman, clan, or tribe— will turn away from the Lord our God to worship these gods of other nations, and so that no root among you bears bitter and poisonous fruit.

Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.

Beware that the heart of no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you turns away from the LORD our God today to pursue and serve the gods of those nations; beware that there is among you no root producing poisonous and bitter fruit.

lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;

又要谨慎，恐怕有人失了神的恩；恐怕有毒根生出来扰乱你们，因此叫众人沾染污秽；

你们要谨慎，免得心中受迷惑，就偏离正路，去侍奉敬拜别神。耶和华的怒气向你们发作，就使天闭塞不下雨，地也不出产，使你们在耶和华所赐给你们的美地上速速灭亡。

“你们中间若有先知或是做梦的起来，向你显个神迹奇事，对你说：‘我们去随从你素来所不认识的别神，侍奉它吧。’他所显的神迹奇事虽有应验，你也不可听那先知或是那做梦之人的话；因为这是耶和华你们的神试验你们，要知道你们是尽心尽性爱耶和华你们的神不是。你们要顺从耶和华你们的神，敬畏他，谨守他的诫命，听从他的话，侍奉他，专靠他。那先知或是那做梦的既用言语叛逆那领你们出埃及地、救赎你脱离为奴之家的耶和华你们的神，要勾引你离开耶和华你神所吩咐你行的道，你便要将他治死。这样，就把那恶从你们中间除掉。“你的同胞弟兄，或是你的儿女，或是你怀中的妻，或是如同你性命的朋友，若暗中引诱你，说：‘我们不如去侍奉你和你列祖素来所不认识的别神，是你四围列国的神。’无论是离你近，离你远，从地这边到地那边的神，你不可依从他，也不可听从他，眼不可顾惜他。你不可怜恤他，也不可遮庇他，总要杀他；你先下手，然后众民也下手，将他治死。要用石头打死他，因为他想要勾引你离开那领你出埃及地为奴之家的耶和华你的神。以色列众人都要听见害怕，就不敢在你们中间再行这样的恶了。“在耶和华你神所赐你居住的各城中，你若听人说，有些匪类从你们中间的一座城出来勾引本城的居民，说：‘我们不如去侍奉你们素来所不认识的别神’；

所以万军之耶和华以色列的神如此说：“看哪，我必将茵陈给这百姓吃，又将苦胆水给他们喝。

马岂能在崖石上奔跑？人岂能在那里用牛耕种呢？你们却使公平变为苦胆，使公义的果子变为茵陈。

弟兄们，你们要谨慎，免得你们中间或有人存着不信的恶心，把永生神离弃了。

我看出你正在苦胆之中，被罪恶捆绑。”

“在你们中间，在耶和华你神所赐你的诸城中，无论哪座城里，若有人，或男或女，行耶和华你神眼中看为恶的事，违背了他的约，去侍奉敬拜别神，或拜日头，或拜月亮，或拜天象，是主不曾吩咐的；有人告诉你，你也听见了，就要细细地探听，果然是真，准有这可憎恶的事行在以色列中，你就要将行这恶事的男人或女人拉到城门外，用石头将他打死。要凭两三个人的口作见证将那当死的人治死；不可凭一个人的口作见证将他治死。见证人要先下手，然后众民也下手将他治死。这样，就把那恶从你们中间除掉。

他们为立约说谎言，起假誓；因此，灾罚如苦菜滋生在田间的犁沟中。
