你們中間，不論男人或女人，家族或支派，切不可有人背棄我們的上帝耶和華，去祭拜列國的神明，免得你們中間有殘根長出苦毒的果實，

惟恐你们中间，或男或女，或族长或支派长，今日心里偏离耶和华我们的神，去侍奉那些国的神；又怕你们中间有恶根生出苦菜和茵陈来，

惟恐你们中间有人，或男或女，或宗族或支派，今日心里偏离耶和华—我们的上帝，去事奉那些国的神明，又怕你们中间有根长出苦菜和茵陈来。

此約之立、以免爾中男女、宗族支派、今日中心違棄我上帝耶和華、往事斯族之神、致有荼毒之根、生於爾中、

爾中之男女、宗族支派、其心毋違我上帝耶和華、而奉事他邦之上帝、爾中之人、其毒毋太苦、如茵蔯之根、

如爾中或男或女、或宗族、或支派、今日心棄主我之天主、往事此諸邦之神、若有苦毒之根、生於爾中、

Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

Make sure there isn’t a man or woman among your families or tribes who turns away from the Lord our God. No one must worship the gods of those nations. Make sure that kind of worship doesn’t spread like bitter poison through your whole community.

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,

I am making this covenant with you so that no one among you— no man, woman, clan, or tribe— will turn away from the Lord our God to worship these gods of other nations, and so that no root among you bears bitter and poisonous fruit.

Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.

Beware that the heart of no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you turns away from the LORD our God today to pursue and serve the gods of those nations; beware that there is among you no root producing poisonous and bitter fruit.

lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;

你們要謹慎，以免有人失去上帝的恩典，長出苦毒的根擾亂你們，玷污眾人。

你們要謹慎，免得被迷惑，轉而祭拜、供奉其他神明。否則，耶和華必向你們發怒，使天不下雨、地無出產，以致你們在祂賜給你們的佳美之地上迅速滅亡。

「如果你們中間出現了先知或解夢的人，要顯神蹟奇事給你們看，勸你們隨從、供奉素不認識的神明，即使他們顯的神蹟奇事應驗了，你們也不可聽從他們。因為這是你們的上帝耶和華在試驗你們，要看看你們是否全心全意地愛祂。你們要跟從你們的上帝耶和華，敬畏祂，遵守祂的誡命，聽從祂的話，事奉祂，倚靠祂。必須處死那些先知或解夢的人，因為他們慫恿你們背叛你們的上帝耶和華、偏離祂吩咐你們當走的道路。你們的上帝耶和華曾帶你們離開埃及，救你們脫離奴役。你們必須清除你們當中的邪惡。「如果你們的兄弟、兒女、愛妻或摯友引誘你們去拜你們和你們祖先都不認識的神明，引誘你們去拜你們周圍各族的神明，或在附近或遠在天邊，你們不可遷就、聽從他們，不可憐惜他們，不可放過或包庇他們。必須處死他們。你們要首先下手，然後眾人一起打死他們。你們要用石頭打死他們，因為他們企圖使你們背棄你們的上帝耶和華，祂曾把你們從受奴役之地——埃及領出來。這樣，所有以色列人聽了就會害怕，必無人再敢做這種惡事。「在你們的上帝耶和華將要賜給你們居住的各城中，如果你們聽說某城裡有惡人引誘城中的居民偏離正路，唆使他們去供奉你們不認識的神明，

因此，以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說：「看啊，我要使這百姓吃苦艾，喝毒藥；

馬能在懸崖上奔馳嗎？牛能在海中耕作嗎？你們卻使公正淪為毒藥，使公義之果變成苦艾。

弟兄姊妹，要謹慎，免得你們當中有人心存惡念，不肯相信，背棄了永活的上帝。

我看得出你正因為嫉妒而心裡充滿了苦澀，被罪惡捆綁。」

「如果有人在你們的上帝耶和華將要賜給你們的各城鎮做祂視為惡的事，違背祂的約，不遵守祂的禁令，去供奉和祭拜其他神明，祭拜日、月或星辰，你們得知後，必須徹底調查。如果屬實，在以色列確實有人做這種可憎之事，就要把那人帶到城門口，用石頭打死他。但你們不可單憑一個證人便處死那人，要有兩三個證人方可處死他。證人要先扔石頭，眾人隨後，這樣就除掉了你們中間的罪惡。

他們說虛話，起假誓，立空盟，因此不法之事滋長，猶如田間犁溝中蔓延的毒草。
