Jehovah will cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thee: they shall come out against thee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways.

The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

Enemies will rise up against you. But the Lord will help you win the battle over them. They will come at you from one direction. But they’ll run away from you in every direction.

“ The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!

And Jehovah discomfited them before Israel, and he slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth- horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth- horon, that Jehovah cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more who died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an army of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and he came unto Mareshah.Then Asa went out to meet him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.And Asa cried unto Jehovah his God, and said, Jehovah, there is none besides thee to help, between the mighty and him that hath no strength: help us, O Jehovah our God; for we rely on thee, and in thy name are we come against this multitude. O Jehovah, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.So Jehovah smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and there fell of the Ethiopians so many that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before Jehovah, and before his host; and they carried away very much booty.And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of Jehovah came upon them: and they despoiled all the cities; for there was much spoil in them.They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep in abundance, and camels, and returned to Jerusalem.

How should one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Except their Rock had sold them, And Jehovah had delivered them up?

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because Jehovah, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

Jehovah will cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies; thou shalt go out one way against them, and shalt flee seven ways before them: and thou shalt be tossed to and from among all the kingdoms of the earth.

And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of Jehovah his God:for he took away the foreign altars, and the high places, and brake down the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim,and commanded Judah to seek Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun- images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.And he built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because Jehovah had given him rest.

And when they began to sing and to praise, Jehovah set liers- in- wait against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, that were come against Judah; and they were smitten.For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.And when Judah came to the watch- tower of the wilderness, they looked upon the multitude; and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none that escaped.And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.
