Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart.

Among those nations you won’t find any peace. There won’t be any place where you can make your home and rest your feet. The Lord will give you minds filled with worry. He’ll give you eyes worn out from looking for help. You won’t have any hope in your hearts.

And among these nations you shall find no respite, and there shall be no resting place for the sole of your foot, but the Lord will give you there a trembling heart and failing eyes and a languishing soul.

There among those nations you will find no peace or place to rest. And the Lord will cause your heart to tremble, your eyesight to fail, and your soul to despair.

至於你們剩下的人呢、他們在仇敵之地時、我必使怯懦餒弱之氣進他們的心；飄蕩落葉的響聲也會追趕他們；他們必逃跑、像人逃避刀劍；沒有人追趕，他們也跌倒。

那麼我也就要這樣待你們；我必派驚惶、派癆病熱病、突然襲擊你們，使你們眼目失明、精神消損。你們必白白撒種，因為你們的仇敵必喫你們所種的。

願他們的眼昏矇、不能看見；願你使他們的脊背總是彎屈卑服。』

即使他們被仇敵擄去、流亡外國，就是從那裏、我也必吩咐刀劍去殺戮他們；我必拿眼瞪着他們，是要降禍，不是降福。』

我的上帝說：『惡人並沒有平安福利。』

願你使他們看出你心裏剛硬！願你的咒詛歸與他們！

這一切事卻只是災難的起頭。

看吧，我的僕人必因心裏高興而歡呼，但你們呢，卻要因心裏傷痛而哀叫，因心靈破碎而哀號。

你的三分之一必在你中間因瘟疫而死，因饑荒而消滅；三分之一必在你四圍倒斃於刀下；三分之一我必給四散於四方；我還要拔刀追趕他們。『這樣我的怒氣就得以發盡，我就得以平息我向他們發的烈怒；我平息了妒憤，他們就知道我永恆主向他們發盡了我的烈怒是懷着妒愛而說話的。並且我必使你在你四圍的列國中、在經過的眾人眼前、成了荒廢和羞辱的對象。這樣，我就要以怒氣以烈怒、以烈怒的責打向你施判罰，那時你就在你四圍的列國中成了令人羞辱、令人毁謗、令人警戒、驚駭的對象：這是我永恆主說的。那時我必將饑荒的惡箭射在你們身上，這箭是能毁滅人的，就是我要發射去毁滅你們的；我必將饑荒增加給你們，折斷你們糧食的支杖。我必打發饑荒和惡獸去攻擊你，使你喪失兒子；瘟疫和流血的事必流行於你中間；我必使刀劍來擊打你；這是我永恆主說的。

永恆主必像獅子吼叫；他的子民必跟着他而行；他一吼叫，他們就戰戰兢兢從西方趕來。他們必像鳥兒擊拍翅膀從埃及趕來，像鴿子從亞述地來到；我必使他們返回自己家裏：永恆主發神諭說。

奮發，奮發哦！耶路撒冷啊，站起來哦！你這從永恆主手中喝了他烈怒之杯，喝了那使人東倒西歪的杯爵，以至於喝盡的！

『你們說：「讓我們像列國人，像列邦的宗族一樣，去服事木頭石頭吧！」你們心裏起的這意念、是決不能成的。『主永恆主發神諭說：我指着永活的我來起誓，我一定要用大能的手和伸出的膀臂、並傾倒出的烈怒作王治理你們。我要用大能的手、和伸出的膀臂、並傾倒出的烈怒、將你們從外族之民中領出來，將你們從分散到的列邦聚集攏來。我要把你們帶到外族之民的曠野，在那裏面對面地判罰你們。

由於懼怕、以及對那即將臨到天下之事的期待慌，人都昏絕了；因為天上的列強萬象必被搖動。

『人子啊，你要戰戰兢兢地喫你的飯，要懷着震顫掛慮的心情喝你的水；你要對這地的平民說：主永恆主論以色列地耶路撒冷的居民、是這麼說的：他們必懷着掛慮的心情喫他們的飯，必驚慌慌地喝他們的水；因其中居住的眾人所行強暴的事、這地必荒涼、失掉其豐滿。

因為你看，我必發出命令，將以色列家在列國中簸來簸去，像穀子在簸箕裏被簸動一樣，沒有一個子粒會落在地上。我人民中所有犯罪的人——就是那些說：「災禍必不能觸害着我們，不能碰着我們」的——這種人必死於刀劍之下。

我一聽見，我心腸就顫動，我一聽見響聲，我嘴脣就震撼；爛瘡侵入我骨頭，我腳下的步伐也顫動；但是我要靜候災難日子之臨到來懲罰結隊侵掠我們、的人。

但那鴿子卻找不着腳掌停息的地方，就回到樓船挪亞那裏，因為遍地上還都是水；於是挪亞伸手拿鴿子，接進樓船。
