“耶和华要使一国从遥远的地极兴起，他们要如鹰飞来袭击你们。你们不懂他们的语言。

“耶和华必从远方，从地极把一国的民带来，像鹰一般飞来攻击你；这民的语言你不会听；

“ The Lord will bring a distant nation against you from the end of the earth, and it will swoop down on you like a vulture. It is a nation whose language you do not understand,

你用口吹角吧！敵人如鷹攻打耶和華的家；因為他們違背了我的約，干犯了我的律法。

追趕我們的比空中的鷹更快；他們在山上追逼我們，在曠野埋伏，等候我們。

看哪，仇敵必如大鷹飛起，展開翅膀攻擊波斯拉。到那日，以東的勇士心中疼痛如臨產的婦人。

耶和華如此說：看哪，仇敵必如鷹展翅快飛，攻擊摩押。

以色列家啊，看哪，我必使一國從遠方來攻擊你，是強盛的國，是古老的國；他們的言語你不知道，所說的話你不明白。這是耶和華說的。他們的箭袋有如敞開的墳墓，他們全都是勇士。他們必吃盡你的莊稼和糧食，是你兒女該吃的；必吃盡你的牛羊，吃盡你的葡萄和無花果；又必用刀劍毀壞你所倚靠的堅固城。

他必豎立大旗，召集遠方的國民，把他們從地極叫來。看哪，他們必急速奔來，其中沒有疲倦的，絆跌的；沒有打盹的，睡覺的；腰帶並不放鬆，鞋帶也不拉斷。他們的箭銳利，弓也上了弦；馬蹄如堅石，車輪像旋風。他們要吼叫，像母獅，咆哮，像少壯獅子；他們要咆哮，抓取獵物，穩穩叼走，無人能救回。那日，他們要向以色列人咆哮，像海浪澎湃；人若望地，看哪，只有黑暗與禍患，光明因密雲而變黑暗。

說，主耶和華如此說：有一隻大鷹，翅膀大，翎毛長，羽毛豐滿，色彩繽紛；牠飛到黎巴嫩，啄去香柏樹梢，

「你要對那悖逆之家說：你們不知道這些事是甚麼意思嗎？你要這樣說，看哪，巴比倫王曾到耶路撒冷，把其中的君王和官長帶到巴比倫去，

我的上帝差遣使者封住獅子的口，叫獅子不傷我，因我在上帝面前無辜。王啊，在你面前我也沒有做過任何虧損的事。」王因此就甚喜樂，吩咐把但以理從坑裏拉上來。於是但以理從坑裏被拉上來，身上毫無損傷，因為他信靠他的上帝。

過了六十二個七，那受膏者被剪除，一無所有；必有一王的百姓來毀滅這城和聖所，它的結局必如洪水沖沒。必有戰爭，一直到末了，荒涼的事已經定了。

因為日子將到，你的仇敵要築起土壘包圍你，四面困住你，並要消滅你和你裏頭的兒女，連一塊石頭也不留在另一塊石頭上，因為你不知道你蒙眷顧的時候。」

律法上記着：「主說：我要用外邦人的舌頭和外邦人的嘴唇向這百姓說話；雖然如此，他們還是不聽從我。」

看哪，他必如雲湧上；他的戰車如旋風，他的馬比鷹更快。我們有禍了！我們敗落了！

耶和華如此說：「看哪，有一民族從北方而來；有一大國被激起，從地極來到。他們拿弓和槍，性情殘忍，不施憐憫；他們的聲音如海浪澎湃。錫安哪，他們都騎馬，如上戰場的人擺陣攻擊你。」

有船隻從基提邊界來到，要壓制亞述，要壓制希伯；他也必永遠沉淪。」

看哪，我必興起迦勒底人，就是那殘忍暴躁之民，通行遍地，霸佔不屬自己的住處。他威武可畏，審判與威權都由他而出。

你不是往那說話艱澀、言語難懂的許多民族那裏去，他們的話你不懂。然而，我若差你往他們那裏去，他們會聽從你。

屍首在哪裏，鷹也會聚在哪裏。」
