追趕我們的比空中的鷹還快；他們在山上追趕我們，在曠野埋伏攻擊我們。

看哪！必有一人像大鷹飛撲而來，展開翅膀攻擊波斯拉；在那日，以東勇士的心必驚慌，像臨產婦人的心一樣。

因為耶和華這樣說：“看哪！必有一人像大鷹疾飛，展開翅膀攻擊摩押。

以色列家啊！我必使一國從遠方來攻擊你們。”這是耶和華的宣告。“那國歷久不衰，從古就有；他們的言語你們不懂得，他們所說的你們不明白。他們的箭囊像敞開的墳墓，他們盡都是勇士。他們必吞滅你們的莊稼和糧食，吞滅你的兒女，你們的羊群牛群，以及你們的葡萄和無花果；他們也必用刀劍毀壞你們所倚仗的堅固城。

他必豎立旗幟，招一國的人從遠方而來，發出哨聲把他們從地極召來；看！他們必急速快奔而來。他們當中沒有疲倦的，沒有絆倒的，沒有打盹的，也沒有睡覺的；他們的腰帶沒有放鬆，鞋帶也沒有折斷。他們的箭銳利，所有的弓都上了弦；他們的馬蹄看來像火石，車輛似旋風。他們的吼叫像母獅，他們的咆哮如幼獅；他們咆哮，攫取獵物，把它叼去，無人援救。到那日，他們要向以色列人咆哮，像海浪的澎湃聲一樣；人若望著這地，就只見黑暗與災難；光在雲中也成了黑暗。

說：‘主耶和華這樣說：有一隻大鷹，翅膀大，翎毛長，羽毛豐富，彩色繽紛，來到黎巴嫩，把香柏樹的樹梢取去；

“你要對那叛逆的民族說：‘你們不知道這些事是甚麼意思嗎？’你要告訴他們：‘看哪！巴比倫王曾到耶路撒冷來，把其中的王和眾領袖擄去，帶他們到巴比倫那裡去。

我的神差遣了他的使者，封住獅子的口，使牠們沒有傷害我，因為我在神面前是清白的；王啊！在你面前我也沒有作過任何錯事。”王就非常高興，吩咐人把但以理從坑裡拉上來。於是但以理從坑裡被拉上來，他身上一點損傷也沒有，因為他信靠他的神。

六十二個七以後，受膏者必被剪除，一無所有（“一無所有”或譯：“不再存在”）；那將要來的領袖的人民必毀滅這城和聖所。結局必像洪水而來；必有爭戰直到末了；荒涼的事已經定了。

日子將到，你的仇敵必築壘攻擊你，周圍環繞你，四面困住你，要摧毀你和你裡面的兒女，沒有一塊石頭留在另一塊石頭上面，因為你不知道那眷顧你的時期。”

律法上記著說：“主說：我要藉著說別種話的人，用外國人的嘴唇，對這人民說話；雖然這樣，他們還是不聽我。”

看哪！他必如密雲湧聚，他的戰車如旋風，他的馬比鷹還快。我們有禍了，我們滅亡了！

耶和華這樣說：“看哪！有一個民族從北方之地而來，有一大國被激動從地極來到。他們緊握弓和槍，性情殘忍，毫無憐憫；他們的聲音像海洋怒吼；錫安的居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）哪！他們騎著戰馬，在戰場上如同一人，列陣攻擊你們。”

必有船從基提而來，苦害亞述，苦害希伯；他卻要滅亡。”

就是要興起迦勒底人，那殘忍兇暴的民；他們遍行全地，佔領別人的家園。他們恐怖可怕，自以為義，趾高氣揚。

不是到說話難明、言語難懂的眾多民族那裡去，他們的話是你聽不懂的。但是，如果我差派你到他們那裡去，他們必聽從你。

屍首在哪裡，鷹也必聚在哪裡。
