therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

So he will send enemies against you. You will have to serve them. You will be hungry and thirsty. You will be naked and poor. The Lord will put the iron chains of slavery around your necks until he has destroyed you.

therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he will put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you.

『你去告訴哈拿尼雅說：「永恆主這麼說：你折斷了木的軛，我卻要作鐵的軛來代替它。因為萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：我已將鐵的軛加在這些國的脖子上，使他們服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，他們總要服事他，連田野間的走獸、我也給了他。」』

『你要對叛逆之家說：你們不知道這些事是甚麼意思麼？你要告訴他們說：看哪，巴比倫王曾經來到耶路撒冷，將其中的王和首領帶到巴比倫自己那裏。

看吧，我在儆醒留意着他們、以降禍而不降福；在埃及地所有的猶大人都必因刀劍饑荒而滅亡，直到滅盡。

『另有一隻大鷹、翅膀大、羽毛多；這葡萄樹如饑似餓地向這鷹伸過根去，從栽種的苗床上向鷹發出枝條，好得牠的澆灌。

永恆主因你們行為之敗壞、因你們所行可厭惡的事、再也不能容忍，故此你們的地才荒廢，成了令人驚駭、令人咒詛的對象，沒有人居住、就如今日一樣。

我惱怒我的人民，我使我的產業被褻瀆；我將他們交在你手中，你對他們毫無憐憫，竟把你的軛格外加重於老年人身上。

雖然如此，他們卻必作示撒的僕人，好叫他們知道服事我跟服事四圍各地的外國人有甚麼分別。』

說：主永恆主這麼說：有一隻鷹、翅膀大、翎翼長、羽毛豐滿、具有五彩色的、來到利巴嫩，將香柏樹的梢兒擰去；

他又對我說：『人子啊，看吧，我必折斷耶路撒冷中糧食的支杖；他們喫飯要按分兩、懷着掛慮的心情喫；他們喝水也要按分量驚慌慌地喝。我要這樣作，是要使他們缺乏糧食和水而彼此驚駭，在他們自己的罪罰中而消削淨盡。

將來人民若問說：「永恆主我們的上帝為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？」你就要對他們說：「你們怎樣離棄了我，在你們的地上事奉外人的神，你們也必怎樣在不屬於你們的地上服事外族人。」』

我心裏柔和謙卑，你們要負我的軛來跟我學，你們心裏就可得安歇。

我們一定要實行我們口中所說出的一切話：向天后燻祭，澆奠祭，按着我們和我們列祖、我們的王和首領在猶大城市和耶路撒冷街上素常所行的一樣；那時我們喫飽飯，享福樂，不見災禍呀。自從我們停止了向天后燻祭、澆奠祭，我們倒缺乏了一切，又因刀劍饑荒而滅絕了。』

對猶大王西底家我也照這一切話告訴他說：『要把你們的脖子放在巴比倫王的軛下、去服事他和他的人民，以得存活。你和你人民為甚麼硬要由刀劍、饑荒、和瘟疫、去死亡，像永恆主論到那不服事巴比倫王的那種國所說的話呢？

你必鬆手不能管理我所賜給你的產業；我必使你在不認識之地服事你的仇敵；因為你們在我怒氣中燒起火來，要直燒到永遠。』

他們在本國中、雖有了你所賜的洪福，又在你所擺在他們面前這廣大而肥沃之地上，他們卻不事奉你，也不轉離他們的壞行為。唉，我們今天竟做了服事人的奴僕了！至於你所賜給我們列祖的地來喫這上頭的果實和它的美物的呢、唉，我們在這地上竟做了服事人的奴僕呢！這地豐富的出產竟歸了列王，就是你因我們的罪所派來管轄我們的；他們也任意轄制我們這些人的身體和我們的牲口呢；我們真是受着大困迫啊。』

我們的產業轉歸外族人，我們的房屋歸與外籍民。我們成了孤兒，沒有父親；我們的母親簡直像寡婦。我們的水是出錢才有的喝；我們的柴是由代價買來的。我們被追趕，有軛在脖子上；我們勞勞碌碌，得不到歇息。我們授手投降於埃及和亞述，為要得糧喫飽。
