Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand.

Your children will be given to another nation. Day after day you will watch for them to come back. But you will only wear out your eyes. You won’t be able to help your children.

「你們生兒育女，卻留不住一個，因為他們必被擄走。

並把猶大和耶路撒冷的居民賣給希臘人，使他們遠離家鄉。

所以我們的祖先死在刀下，我們的妻兒也被擄去。

我期盼你的應許實現，望眼欲穿。我說：「你何時才安慰我？」

我望眼欲穿地期盼你拯救我，實現你公義的應許。

有的說：「我們和我們的兒女人口眾多，需要糧食來活命。」有的說：「因為饑荒的緣故，我們要將田地、葡萄園和房屋作抵押來獲取糧食。」有的說：「我們要借錢才能繳納王對我們的田地和葡萄園徵收的稅。我們和他們是同胞，我們的孩子就像他們的孩子。但現在我們的兒女要被迫成為僕婢，甚至我們的女兒有些已經淪為奴婢。我們卻無能為力，因為我們的田地和葡萄園已經歸別人了。」

人為了分產業而控告朋友，其子孫的眼睛要失明。

但惡人必眼目失明，無路可逃，他們的指望只有死亡。」

我哭得眼睛失明，心如刀割，肝膽欲碎，因為人民慘遭毀滅，兒童和嬰孩昏倒在街頭。

我連連呼救，已聲嘶力竭；我期盼上帝的幫助，望眼欲穿。

錫安的百姓啊，你們要像分娩的婦人一樣輾轉呻吟，因為你們現在要離開這城，住在荒野，被擄到巴比倫。在那裡，你們將得到解救；在那裡，耶和華必從敵人手中救贖你們。

所以，我要使你們被擄到大馬士革以外的地方。」這是耶和華說的，祂的名字是萬軍之上帝。

「婦女所生的，土地所產的，牛羊所生的都必受咒詛。

我要在這片土地上的各城門口用簸箕簸散我的子民，使他們喪掉兒女；我要滅絕他們，因為他們不思悔改。我要使他們的寡婦比海沙還多，使毀滅者在午間突然奪取青年的性命，以致母親們陷入痛苦、驚恐中。生過七個孩子的母親心力枯竭，奄奄一息。她羞愧難當，她的希望突然破滅，猶如白晝突然變成黑夜。我必使其餘的人喪身在敵人刀下。這是耶和華說的。」

「人子啊，有一天我要奪去他們所喜悅、所誇耀、眼中所愛、心裡所慕的堡壘，也要奪去他們的兒女。

「我像燕、鶴一樣哀鳴，像鴿子一樣呻吟；我舉目望天，雙眼疲倦。耶和華啊！我困苦不堪，求你保護我。

摩押啊，你大禍臨頭了！拜基抹神明的人啊，你們要滅亡了！基抹任由自己的兒子逃亡、女兒被亞摩利王西宏擄走。

此情此景使我們黯然神傷，淚眼模糊。

「你不可在這地方娶妻，也不可生兒育女。至於在這地方出生的孩子和他們的父母，耶和華說，『他們必死於惡疾，無人哀悼，無人埋葬，他們好像地上的糞便。他們必死於戰爭和饑荒，屍首必成為飛鳥和走獸的食物。』」

我們望眼欲穿，盼望援軍的到來，盼來的國家卻無力拯救我們。

你們在萬邦中將不得安寧，沒有落腳之地，耶和華必使你們膽戰心驚、目光呆滯、精神頹廢。
