The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will come at them from one direction but flee from them in seven, and you will become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms on earth.

The Lord will help your enemies win the battle over you. You will come at them from one direction. But you will run away from them in every direction. All the kingdoms on earth will be completely shocked when they see you.

若不是他们的磐石卖掉他们，若不是耶和华抛弃他们，一人怎能赶散他们千人？二人怎能击溃他们万人？

我要严惩你们，使你们败在敌人手下；你们要被那些恨你们的人统治，即使没有人追赶，你们也要逃命。

如果他们问你，‘我们该去哪里，’你就告诉他们，耶和华这样说，“‘该死的死，该被杀的被杀，该遭饥荒的遭饥荒，该被掳的被掳。’“我要让他们遭受四种祸患——刀杀、狗撕、鸟啄、兽吞。这是耶和华说的。因为犹大王希西迦的儿子玛拿西在耶路撒冷的所作所为，我要使他们的遭遇令天下万国惊惧。“耶路撒冷啊，谁会同情你？谁会为你悲哀？谁会驻足向你问安？你背弃我，远离我，因此我要伸手攻击你，毁灭你，不再怜悯你。这是耶和华说的。我要在这片土地上的各城门口用簸箕簸散我的子民，使他们丧掉儿女；我要灭绝他们，因为他们不思悔改。我要使他们的寡妇比海沙还多，使毁灭者在午间突然夺取青年的性命，以致母亲们陷入痛苦、惊恐中。生过七个孩子的母亲心力枯竭，奄奄一息。她羞愧难当，她的希望突然破灭，犹如白昼突然变成黑夜。我必使其余的人丧身在敌人刀下。这是耶和华说的。”

“我要使你们当中的那些幸存者在敌国心惊胆战，过着风声鹤唳、惶恐不安的生活。即使无人追赶，他们也将仓皇逃命，互相绊倒，如同躲避刀剑一样。你们必无力抵挡敌人。

我要使他们饱受战争、饥荒和瘟疫之灾，使他们的遭遇令天下万国惊惧。在我流放他们去的地方，他们必受凌辱、嘲笑、讥讽和咒诅。

因此耶和华说，既然你们不听我的话，不给自己的同胞自由，看啊，我必使你们自由地死在战争、瘟疫和饥荒中，使你们的遭遇令天下万国惊惧。这是耶和华说的。

他们要死在刀剑之下，要被掳到外国去。耶路撒冷要被外族人蹂躏，直到外族人肆虐的日期满了为止。
