「你們從前不是子民，現在卻成了神的子民；從前未曾蒙憐憫，現在卻蒙了憐憫。」親愛的，你們是客旅，是寄居的，我勸你們要禁戒肉體的情慾；這情慾是與靈魂爭戰的。

你們豈不知不義的人不能承受神的國嗎？不要自欺！無論是淫亂的、拜偶像的、姦淫的、作娼妓的，親男色的、偷竊的、貪婪的、醉酒的、辱罵的、勒索的，都不能承受神的國。從前你們中間也有人是這樣；但現在你們奉主耶穌基督的名，並藉着我們神的靈，已經洗淨，已經成聖，已經稱義了。

從前你們是暗昧的，但如今在主裏面是光明的，行事為人要像光明的子女－光明所結的果子就是一切的良善、公義、誠實。

感謝神！因為你們從前雖然作罪的奴隸，現在卻從心裏順服了所傳給你們教導的典範。你們既從罪裏得了釋放，就作了義的奴僕。

「耶和華－你的神今日吩咐你遵行這些律例典章，所以你要盡心盡性謹守遵行。你今日宣認耶和華為你的神，承諾遵行他的道，謹守他的律例、誡命、典章，聽從他的話。耶和華今日照他所應許你的，也認你為他寶貴的子民，叫你謹守他的一切誡命，

但如今，你們既從罪裏得了釋放，作了神的奴僕，就結出果子，以至於成聖，那結局就是永生。
