你們從前不是子民，如今卻是上帝的子民；從前沒有蒙憐恤，如今卻蒙了憐恤。親愛的，我勸你們做僑民做寄居的、要禁戒那對你們的靈魂交戰的肉體私慾；

豈不知不義的人不能承受上帝的國麼？別自己錯誤了！無論是嫖妓或作男倡的、是拜偶像的、或姦淫的、是做孌童的、或親男色的、是偷竊的、或貪婪的、醉酒的、辱罵人的、勒索人的、都不能承受上帝的國。你們中間也有人從前是這樣。但如今呢、在主耶穌基督名內、又在我們上帝之靈的感動中、已經洗淨，已成聖別，已稱為義了。

因為你們從前是黑暗，如今在主裏乃是光；行事為人總要像光的兒女（光的果子是在於一切的良善、正義、和真誠）。

感謝上帝，你們雖曾做罪的奴僕，卻已從心裏聽從你們所被傳授的教訓系統，已得自由脫離了罪、給義做奴僕了。

『永恆主你的上帝今日吩咐你遵行這些律例典章，所以你要全心全意地謹慎遵行。你今日使永恆主宣言他是你的上帝，你要行他的道路，謹守他的律例誡命和典章，聽他的聲音。永恆主今日也使你宣言你是屬於他、做他自己所有的子民、照他對你所說過的，你要謹守他的一切誡命，

但如今呢、你們既得自由、脫離了罪、給上帝做奴僕，就有果子以至於聖化了：那結局乃是永生。
