‘ Cursed is he who secretly kills his neighbor.’ All the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

“ Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”

“ May anyone who kills their neighbor secretly be under the Lord’ s curse.” Then all the people will say,“ Amen!”

“‘ Cursed be anyone who strikes down his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

‘ Cursed is anyone who attacks a neighbor in secret.’ And all the people will reply,‘ Amen.’

‘ The one who secretly kills his neighbor is cursed.’ And all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

‘ Cursed is he who attacks his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor in secret. And all the people shall say, Amen.

“‘ Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death. He shall surely be put to death.

“‘ He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death.

“ You shall not murder.

“ One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

Absalom commanded his servants, saying,“ Mark now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you,‘ Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!”

He wrote in the letter, saying,“ Send Uriah to the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck, and die.”When Joab kept watch on the city, he assigned Uriah to the place where he knew that valiant men were.The men of the city went out, and fought with Joab. You have struck Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.Now therefore the sword will never depart from your house, because you have despised me, and have taken Uriah the Hittite’s wife to be your wife.’“ This is what Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he will lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.For you did this secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.’”

When Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the middle of the gate to speak with him quietly, and struck him there in the body, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
