When you have crossed the Jordan into the land the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.

以新心賜爾、去其頑梗之性、賜以易化之心、

循耶和華僕摩西、命以色列族、亦循所載摩西之律法、以石築壇、毋雕鏤、毋用器造作、獻燔祭於其上、奉事耶和華、亦獻酬恩之祭。

以色列族、尚其聽之、今日爾渡約但、有較爾強大之民、其城垣廣大、高可參天、爾將得之。

當行於爾上帝耶和華法匱前、至約但河中、各以肩荷石、循以色列支派之數。此可為徵於爾中、越至後日、倘爾子孫詰爾曰、斯石何意、必曰、昔耶和華法匱、濟約但時、於其前河水絕流、此石為誌、使以色列族永憶勿忘。以色列族、在約但河中、取石十二、循以色列族支派之數、攜石至宿所、置之、遵耶和華所諭約書亞之命。約書亞又置石十二於約但河中、舁法匱之祭司足所履之處、迄今尚存。於是民速濟河、舁法匱之祭司立於約但河中、迨耶和華所諭約書亞之命、摩西所傳約書亞之言、盡遵行之、以畢其事。民既盡濟、舁耶和華法匱之祭司亦濟斯河、為民目擊。流便伽得二支派、及馬拿西支派之半、整其行伍、於同儕前濟河、從摩西所言、約四萬人、預備以戰、濟河至耶利哥平原、循耶和華命。○當日耶和華使約書亞為尊於以色列族前、民盡寅畏、至於畢生、如畏摩西然。耶和華諭約書亞曰、使舁法匱之祭司、自約但河中出。約書亞命祭司曰、自河中出。舁法匱之祭司、既出自約但、足履陸地時、河水復至、盈溢於岸、與前無異。正月十日、民自約但河出、建營於耶利哥東之吉甲。約書亞以河中所取十二石、立於斯地、告以色列族曰、越至後世、爾之子孫、倘詰爾曰、立石何意。爾當告之曰、昔以色列族濟約但、如行陸地。蓋爾之上帝耶和華、使河水涸於民前、待民悉濟、如使紅海水涸、待民悉濟然。於是天下億兆知耶和華之巨能、爾當畏爾上帝耶和華、歷世靡暨。

我賦以一心、惟新其神、去其頑梗之心、賜以易化之心、

爾上帝耶和華諭我、以誡命法度禮儀示爾、爾宜恪守、於爾所往、據有之地。
