“ Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”

“ May anyone who brings shame on their father or mother be under the Lord’ s curse.” Then all the people will say,“ Amen!”

‘ The one who dishonors his father or mother is cursed.’ And all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not heed them,then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city, to the gate of his city.And they shall say to the elders of his city,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones; so you shall put away the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

In you they have made light of father and mother; in your midst they have oppressed the stranger; in you they have mistreated the fatherless and the widow.

There is a generation that curses its father, And does not bless its mother.There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, Yet is not washed from its filthiness.There is a generation— oh, how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up.There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, And whose fangs are like knives, To devour the poor from off the earth, And the needy from among men.The leech has two daughters— Give and Give! There are three things that are never satisfied, Four never say,“ Enough!”:The grave, The barren womb, The earth that is not satisfied with water— And the fire never says,“ Enough!”The eye that mocks his father, And scorns obedience to his mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young eagles will eat it.

For God commanded, saying,‘ Honor your father and your mother’; and,‘ He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’But you say,‘ Whoever says to his father or mother,“ Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”—then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

‘ For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall be upon him.
