Therefore it shall be, when the Lord your God has given you rest from your enemies all around, in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, that you will blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. You shall not forget.

爾上帝耶和華、拯爾脫於四周之敵、俾得綏安、於其所賜為業之地、則必塗亞瑪力誌於天下、爾勿忘之、

爾上帝耶和華脫爾於眾敵、俾爾綏安、在其所錫之地、爾曹必滅亞馬力族於天下、當追憶勿忘。

及至主爾之天主助爾勝四周之敵、俾爾綏安在主爾天主所賜爾為業之地、或作及至主爾之天主脫爾於四圍之敵使爾安居在主云云則當塗抹亞瑪力名於天下、爾毋或忘、

When the Lord your God gives you rest from all the enemies around you in the land he is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you shall blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget!

The Lord your God will give you peace and rest from all the enemies around you. He’ll do this in the land he’s giving you to take over as your very own. No one on earth will mention the Amalekites ever again because you will destroy them. Do not forget!

Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies around you, in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget.

Therefore, when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies in the land he is giving you as a special possession, you must destroy the Amalekites and erase their memory from under heaven. Never forget this!

Therefore it shall be, when Jehovah thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget.

So when the LORD your God gives you relief from all the enemies who surround you in the land he is giving you as an inheritance, you must wipe out the memory of the Amalekites from under heaven– do not forget!

Therefore it shall be, when Yahweh your God has given you rest from all your enemies all around, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky. You shall not forget.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

for he said,“ Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

And he gathered an army and attacked the Amalekites, and delivered Israel from the hands of those who plundered them.

Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’

Samuel also said to Saul,“ The Lord sent me to anoint you king over His people, over Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the Lord.Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt.Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’”So Saul gathered the people together and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand men of Judah.And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and lay in wait in the valley.Then Saul said to the Kenites,“ Go, depart, get down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.And Saul attacked the Amalekites, from Havilah all the way to Shur, which is east of Egypt.He also took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.Now the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying,“ I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night.So when Samuel rose early in the morning to meet Saul, it was told Samuel, saying,“ Saul went to Carmel, and indeed, he set up a monument for himself; and he has gone on around, passed by, and gone down to Gilgal.”Then Samuel went to Saul, and Saul said to him,“ Blessed are you of the Lord! I have performed the commandment of the Lord.”But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?”And Saul said,“ They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the Lord your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.”Then Samuel said to Saul,“ Be quiet! And I will tell you what the Lord said to me last night.” And he said to him,“ Speak on.”So Samuel said,“ When you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the Lord anoint you king over Israel?Now the Lord sent you on a mission, and said,‘ Go, and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord? Why did you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the Lord?”And Saul said to Samuel,“ But I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”So Samuel said:“ Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”Then Saul said to Samuel,“ I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”But Samuel said to Saul,“ I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.So Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.”Then he said,“ I have sinned; yet honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord your God.”So Samuel turned back after Saul, and Saul worshiped the Lord.Then Samuel said,“ Bring Agag king of the Amalekites here to me.” So Agag came to him cautiously. And Agag said,“ Surely the bitterness of death is past.”But Samuel said,“ As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women.” And Samuel hacked Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house at Gibeah of Saul.And Samuel went no more to see Saul until the day of his death. Nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul, and the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath subsided.

And David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. For those nations were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as you go to Shur, even as far as the land of Egypt.

Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.

After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.

So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and there it was, hidden in his tent, with the silver under it.And they took them from the midst of the tent, brought them to Joshua and to all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the Lord.Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the garment, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that he had, and they brought them to the Valley of Achor.And Joshua said,“ Why have you troubled us? The Lord will trouble you this day.” So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. SelahDeal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon,Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth.Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,Who said,“ Let us take for ourselves The pastures of God for a possession.”O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind!As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire,So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm.Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O Lord.Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,

Now it came to pass, a long time after the Lord had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua was old, advanced in age.

And they defeated the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. They have dwelt there to this day.

Also Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha,Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vajezatha—the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews— they killed; but they did not lay a hand on the plunder.

Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire,and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way.So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive.Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive.Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son,“ Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
