Do not have two differing weights in your bag— one heavy, one light.

Don’t have two different scales. Don’t have scales that cause things to seem heavier or lighter than they really are.

The Lord abhors dishonest scales, but an accurate weight is his delight.

You say,“ When will the new moon festival be over, so we can sell grain? When will the Sabbath end, so we can open up the grain bins? We’re eager to sell less for a higher price, and to cheat the buyer with rigged scales!

Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are his handiwork.

You must not do injustice in the regulation of measures, whether of length, weight, or volume.You must have honest balances, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt.You must be sure to obey all my statutes and regulations. I am the LORD.’”

I do not condone the use of rigged scales, or a bag of deceptive weights.The city’s rich men think nothing of resorting to violence; her inhabitants lie, their tongues speak deceptive words.

You must use just balances, a just dry measure( an ephah), and a just liquid measure( a bath).The dry and liquid measures will be the same, the bath will contain a tenth of a homer, and the ephah a tenth of a homer; the homer will be the standard measure.

Diverse weights and diverse measures– the LORD abhors both of them.
