When a man is newly married, he need not go into the army nor be obligated in any way; he must be free to stay at home for a full year and bring joy to the wife he has married.

人新娶妻、不必出徵、亦不必任以官事、必歷一年居於家中、以慰所娶之妻、○

If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.

Suppose a man has just married his wife. Then don’t send him into battle. Don’t give him any other duty either. He’s free to stay home for one year. He needs time to make his new wife happy.

“ When a man takes a new wife, he is not to go out with the army, nor be assigned any duty; he shall be free at home for one year and shall make his wife whom he has taken happy.

“ When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.

When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not go out in the host, neither shall he be charged with any business: he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he hath taken.

“ When a man takes a bride, he must not go out with the army or be liable for any duty. He is free to stay at home for one year, so that he can bring joy to the wife he has married.

When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business:[ but] he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.

Or who among you has become engaged to a woman but has not married her? He may go home, lest he die in battle and someone else marry her.”

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and unites with his wife, and they become a new family.

In this way they will train the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children,to be self- controlled, pure, fulfilling their duties at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the message of God may not be discredited.

May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in your young wife–

But from the beginning of creation he made them male and female.For this reason a man will leave his father and mother,and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Enjoy life with your beloved wife during all the days of your fleeting life that God has given you on earth during all your fleeting days; for that is your reward in life and in your burdensome work on earth.

He answered,“ Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female,and said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

And I say this, brothers and sisters: The time is short. So then those who have wives should be as those who have none,

To the married I give this command– not I, but the Lord– a wife should not divorce a husband( but if she does, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband), and a husband should not divorce his wife.To the rest I say– I, not the Lord– if a brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is happy to live with him, he should not divorce her.And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is happy to live with her, she should not divorce him.For the unbelieving husband is sanctified because of the wife, and the unbelieving wife because of her husband. Otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.But if the unbeliever wants a divorce, let it take place. In these circumstances the brother or sister is not bound. God has called you in peace.

In the same way husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.For no one has ever hated his own body but he feeds it and takes care of it, just as Christ also does the church,
