If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.

Suppose a man has just married his wife. Then don’t send him into battle. Don’t give him any other duty either. He’s free to stay home for one year. He needs time to make his new wife happy.

這樣，她們就能教導年輕的婦女愛丈夫、愛兒女、自制、貞潔，持家、和善、順服丈夫，免得上帝的道被人毀謗。

要使你的泉源蒙福，要愛你年輕時所娶的妻。

太初創造時，『上帝造了男人和女人。』『因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。』這樣，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體了。因此，上帝配合的，人不可分開。」

在你虛空的人生中，就是在上帝所賜、日光之下虛空的歲月裡，你要與愛妻快樂度日，因為這是你一生在日光之下的勞碌中所當得的。

弟兄們，我告訴你們，時日不多了，從今以後，那些有妻子的，要像沒有妻子的；

我也吩咐那些已婚的人，其實不是我吩咐，而是主吩咐：妻子不可離開丈夫，若是離開了，妻子不可再嫁別人，只能與丈夫復合。丈夫也不可離棄妻子。至於其他的人，主沒有吩咐什麼，但我要說，如果某弟兄的妻子不信主，但樂意和他同住，他就不應離棄妻子。同樣，如果某姊妹的丈夫不信主，但樂意和她同住，她就不應離棄丈夫。因為不信的丈夫因妻子而得以聖潔了。同樣，不信的妻子也因丈夫而得以聖潔了。否則你們的孩子就是不潔淨的，但如今他們是聖潔的。倘若不信的一方堅持要離開的話，就讓他離開好了。無論是弟兄或姊妹遇到這樣的事情都不必勉強。上帝呼召我們，原是要我們和睦相處。

同樣，作丈夫的也要愛妻子如同愛自己的身體，愛妻子就是愛自己。沒有人會厭惡自己的身體，人總是珍惜保養身體，正如基督對待教會一樣，
