For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to pronounce a curse on you.

The Ammonites and Moabites didn’t come to meet you with food and water on your way out of Egypt. They even hired Balaam from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to put a curse on you. Balaam was the son of Beor.

你可以卖粮给我吃，也可以卖水给我喝，只要容我步行过去，就如住西珥的以扫子孙和住亚珥的摩押人待我一样，等我过了约旦河，好进入耶和华我们神所赐给我们的地。’

他们在一切苦难中，他也同受苦难；并且他面前的使者拯救他们；他以慈爱和怜悯救赎他们；在古时的日子常保抱他们，怀搋他们。

他就仆倒在地，听见有声音对他说：“扫罗！扫罗！你为什么逼迫我？”

巴兰便题起诗歌说：“巴勒引我出亚兰，摩押王引我出东山，说：‘来啊，为我咒诅雅各；来啊，怒骂以色列。’

因为我必使你得极大的尊荣。你向我要什么，我就给你什么；只求你来为我咒诅这民。’”

耶洗别杀耶和华众先知的时候，俄巴底将一百个先知藏了，每五十人藏在一个洞里，拿饼和水供养他们。

我岂可将饮食和为我剪羊毛人所宰的肉给我不知道从哪里来的人呢？”

亚伯兰杀败基大老玛和与他同盟的王回来的时候，所多玛王出来，在沙微谷迎接他；沙微谷就是王谷。又有撒冷王麦基洗德带着饼和酒出来迎接；他是至高神的祭司。

万军之耶和华说，“在显出荣耀之后，差遣我去惩罚那掳掠你们的列国，摸你们的就是摸他眼中的瞳人。

他差遣使者往大河边的毗夺去，到比珥的儿子巴兰本乡那里，召巴兰来，说：“有一宗民从埃及出来，遮满地面，与我对居。这民比我强盛，现在求你来为我咒诅他们，或者我能得胜，攻打他们，赶出此地。因为我知道，你为谁祝福，谁就得福；你咒诅谁，谁就受咒诅。”摩押的长老和米甸的长老手里拿着卦金，到了巴兰那里，将巴勒的话都告诉了他。

王要回答说：‘我实在告诉你们，这些事你们既做在我这弟兄中一个最小的身上，就是做在我身上了。’
