For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to pronounce a curse on you.

The Ammonites and Moabites didn’t come to meet you with food and water on your way out of Egypt. They even hired Balaam from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to put a curse on you. Balaam was the son of Beor.

祂苦他们所苦，亲自拯救他们。祂本着慈爱和怜悯救赎了他们，自古以来一直扶持、照顾他们。

他倒在地上，听见有声音对他说：“扫罗！扫罗！你为什么迫害我？”

巴兰吟诗预言说：“巴勒引我出亚兰，摩押王请我出东山，说，‘来为我咒诅雅各，来斥责以色列！’

他必有重赏。你要什么都可以，只求你去为他咒诅那民族。”

我怎能把饼、水和为剪羊毛者预备的肉分给一群来历不明的人呢？”

亚伯兰大败基大老玛及其盟军后凯旋归来，所多玛王到沙微谷来迎接他们。沙微谷即王谷。撒冷王麦基洗德也带着饼和酒出来相迎，他是至高上帝的祭司。

万军之耶和华说，祂在彰显荣耀之后要差遣我去那些掳掠你们的国家，因为谁侵害你们，就是侵害祂的瞳仁。

他差遣使者到幼发拉底河附近的毗夺——比珥的儿子巴兰的家乡，去召巴兰。他让使者带去的信息是：“有一个民族从埃及铺天盖地而来，就住在我对面。他们比我强大，求你为我咒诅他们。这样，我也许就能击败他们，把他们赶走。我知道你祝福谁，谁就蒙福；你咒诅谁，谁就遭祸。”摩押和米甸的长老们带着占卜的礼金去见巴兰，把巴勒的话转告他。

“王会回答说，‘我实在告诉你们，你们帮助我最卑微的一个弟兄，就是帮助我了。’
