Do not charge a fellow Israelite interest, whether on money or food or anything else that may earn interest.

Don’t charge your own people any interest. Don’t charge them when they borrow money, food or anything else.

“ You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.

“ Do not charge interest on the loans you make to a fellow Israelite, whether you loan money, or food, or anything else.

“ Do not charge your brother interest on silver, food, or anything that can earn interest.

“ You are not to charge interest to your countrymen: interest on money, food, or anything that may be loaned on interest.

Thou shalt not lend upon interest to thy brother; interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that is lent upon interest.

Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:

You must not charge interest on a loan to your fellow Israelite, whether on money, food, or anything else that has been loaned with interest.

“ If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest.

‘ If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you.You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit.

He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.

If he has not oppressed anyone, But has restored to the debtor his pledge; Has robbed no one by violence, But has given his bread to the hungry And covered the naked with clothing;If he has not exacted usury Nor taken any increase, But has withdrawn his hand from iniquity And executed true judgment between man and man;

In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take usury and increase; you have made profit from your neighbors by extortion, and have forgotten Me,” says the Lord GOD.

And there was a great outcry of the people and their wives against their Jewish brethren.For there were those who said,“ We, our sons, and our daughters are many; therefore let us get grain, that we may eat and live.”There were also some who said,“ We have mortgaged our lands and vineyards and houses, that we might buy grain because of the famine.”There were also those who said,“ We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our lands and vineyards.Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children; and indeed we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have been brought into slavery. It is not in our power to redeem them, for other men have our lands and vineyards.”And I became very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.After serious thought, I rebuked the nobles and rulers, and said to them,“ Each of you is exacting usury from his brother.” So I called a great assembly against them.

Has not oppressed anyone, Nor withheld a pledge, Nor robbed by violence, But has given his bread to the hungry And covered the naked with clothing;Who has withdrawn his hand from the poor And not received usury or increase, But has executed My judgments And walked in My statutes— He shall not die for the iniquity of his father; He shall surely live!“ As for his father, Because he cruelly oppressed, Robbed his brother by violence, And did what is not good among his people, Behold, he shall die for his iniquity.

And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

If he has exacted usury Or taken increase— Shall he then live? He shall not live! If he has done any of these abominations, He shall surely die; His blood shall be upon him.
