Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.

He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him.

「不可虧待寄居的，也不可欺壓他，因為你們在埃及地也作過寄居的。

「不可欺壓寄居的，因為你們在埃及地作過寄居的，知道寄居者的心情。」

求你賜謀略，行公平，使你的影子在正午如黑夜，掩護逃亡的人，不洩露逃難者的行蹤。願我摩押逃亡的人寄居在你那裏，你作他們的避難所，躲避滅命者的面。勒索的人消失，毀滅的事止息，欺壓者從國中除滅，

你們卻羞辱貧窮的人。欺壓你們，拉你們到公堂去的，不就是這些富有的人嗎？

於是他去投靠當地的一個居民，那人打發他到田裏去放豬。他恨不得拿豬所吃的豆莢充飢，也沒有人給他甚麼吃的。他醒悟過來，就說：『我父親有多少雇工，糧食有餘，我倒在這裏餓死嗎？我要起來，到我父親那裏去，對他說：父親！我得罪了天，又得罪了你，從今以後，我不配稱為你的兒子，把我當作一個雇工吧。』於是他起來，往他父親那裏去。相離還遠，他父親看見，就動了慈心，跑去擁抱着他，連連親他。兒子對他說：『父親！我得罪了天，又得罪了你，從今以後，我不配稱為你的兒子。』父親卻吩咐僕人：『快把那上好的袍子拿出來給他穿，把戒指戴在他指頭上，把鞋穿在他腳上，把那肥牛犢牽來宰了，我們來吃喝慶祝；因為我這個兒子是死而復活，失而復得的。』他們就開始慶祝。

不可欺壓寡婦、孤兒、寄居的和困苦的人。誰都不可心裏謀害弟兄。

不欺壓寄居的和孤兒寡婦，不在這地方流無辜人的血，也不隨從別神陷害自己，

萬軍之耶和華說：「我必臨近你們，施行審判。我必速速作見證，警戒那些行邪術的、犯姦淫的、起假誓的、剝削雇工工錢的、欺壓孤兒寡婦的、屈枉寄居者的和不敬畏我的人。」

不要毀謗，不要爭吵，要和氣，對眾人總要顯出溫柔。我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受迷惑，作各樣私慾和宴樂的奴隸，在惡毒、嫉妒中度日，是可恨的，而且彼此相恨。
