他要在你中間和你同住，住在他自己選擇的地方，住在他喜歡的城市，你不可欺負他。

Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.

Let them live among you anywhere they want to. Let them live in any town they choose. Don’t treat them badly.

He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him.

不可欺負寄居的，也不可壓迫他，因為你們在埃及地也作過寄居的。

“求你給我們獻謀略，作裁判！使你的影子在午間如同黑夜，把被趕逐的人隱藏起來，不可出賣逃亡的人。讓摩押那些被趕逐的人與你同住，求你作他們的隱密處，使他們脫離毀滅者的面。勒索人的必要終止，毀滅人的也將止息，欺壓人的必從這地滅絕；

然而你們卻侮辱窮人。其實，那些欺壓你們，拉你們上法庭的，不就是富足的人嗎？

於是他去投靠當地的一個居民。那人打發他到田裡去放豬，他恨不得吃豬所吃的豆莢，可是沒有人給他。他醒悟過來，說：‘我父親有那麼多雇工，又有豐富的食物，我卻要在這裡餓死嗎？我要起來，到我父親那裡去，對他說：爸爸，我得罪了天，也得罪了你，不配再稱為你的兒子，把我當作一個雇工吧！’於是他起來往父親那裡去。他還在遠處時，他父親看見了他，就動了慈心，跑過去抱著他，連連與他親吻。兒子說：‘爸爸，我得罪了天，也得罪了你，不配再稱為你的兒子。’父親卻吩咐僕人說：‘快把那最好的袍子拿來給他穿，把戒指戴在他手上，把鞋穿在他腳上，把肥牛犢牽來宰了，我們要吃喝快樂，因為我這兒子是死而復活、失而又得的。’他們就歡樂起來。

寡婦、孤兒、寄居的和貧窮人，你們都不可欺壓，也不可各自心裡圖謀惡事，陷害自己的兄弟。’

如果你們不欺壓寄居的，不欺壓孤兒寡婦，不在這地方流無辜人的血，也不跟從別的神，自招禍患；

萬軍之耶和華說：“我必臨近你們施行審判；我要快快指證那些行邪術的、犯姦淫的、起假誓的、在工錢上欺壓雇工的、欺壓孤兒寡婦的、屈枉寄居的和不敬畏我的。”

不可毀謗人，要與人無爭，謙恭有禮，向眾人表現充分溫柔的心。我們從前也是無知、不順服、受了迷惑、被各種私慾和逸樂所奴役，生活在惡毒和嫉妒之中，是可憎可惡的，並且互相仇視。
