If you see your fellow Israelite’s donkey or ox fallen on the road, do not ignore it. Help the owner get it to its feet.

Suppose you see your neighbor’s donkey or ox that has fallen down on the road. Then don’t act as if you didn’t see it. Help the owner get it up on its feet again.

You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way and ignore them. You shall help him to lift them up again.

When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.In the same way, a Levite, when he arrived at the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.But a Samaritan on his journey came up to him, and when he saw the man, he had compassion.He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said,‘ Take care of him. When I come back I’ll reimburse you for whatever extra you spend.’“ Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”“ The one who showed mercy to him,” he said. Then Jesus told him,“ Go and do the same.”

Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.

Therefore, strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees,and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead.

I will most gladly spend and be spent for you. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

“ If you come across your enemy’s stray ox or donkey, you must return it to him.“ If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying helpless under its load, and you want to refrain from helping it, you must help with it.
