人有悖逆之子、不聽父母之言、雖責之仍不聽、

If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,

Suppose someone has a very stubborn son. He doesn’t obey his father and mother. And he won’t listen to them when they try to correct him.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,

“ Suppose a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father or mother and doesn’t listen to them even after they discipline him,

“ Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

‘ Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.

‘ Cursed is the one who treats his father or his mother with contempt.’“ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen!’

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.“ Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:“ that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his destruction.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken:“ I have nourished and brought up children, And they have rebelled against Me;

Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.

My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother;

“ I overthrew some of you, As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, And you were like a firebrand plucked from the burning; Yet you have not returned to Me,” Says the Lord.“ Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel; Because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”

You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.

“ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself:‘ You have chastised me, and I was chastised, Like an untrained bull; Restore me, and I will return, For You are the Lord my God.

Whoever robs his father or his mother, And says,“ It is no transgression,” The same is companion to a destroyer.

In you they have made light of father and mother; in your midst they have oppressed the stranger; in you they have mistreated the fatherless and the widow.

Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell.

He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your soul.

I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.

In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you, and you were not cleansed, You will not be cleansed of your filthiness anymore, Till I have caused My fury to rest upon you.

Why should you be stricken again? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, And the whole heart faints.

A fool despises his father’s instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent.

O Lord, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, But they have not grieved; You have consumed them, But they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to return.

“ And he who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

There is a generation that curses its father, And does not bless its mother.

The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire.

Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

The eye that mocks his father, And scorns obedience to his mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young eagles will eat it.

Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.

“ And he who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
