Suppose someone has a very stubborn son. He doesn’t obey his father and mother. And he won’t listen to them when they try to correct him.

“人若有顽梗悖逆的儿子，不听从父母的话，他们虽惩治他，他仍不听从，

“人若有顽梗忤逆的儿子，不听从父母的话，他们虽然惩戒他，他还是不听从他们，

“人若有顽梗忤逆的儿子，不听从父母的话，他们虽然惩戒他，他还是不听从他们，

“如果一个人的儿子冥顽不灵、悖逆成性、屡教不改，

“如果人有忤逆倔强的儿子，不听从父母的话；父母管教他以后，他还是不听从；

「人若有頑梗悖逆的兒子，不聽從父母的話，他們雖懲治他，他仍不聽從，

「人若有頑梗忤逆的兒子，不聽從父母的話，他們雖然懲戒他，他還是不聽從他們，

「人若有頑梗忤逆的兒子，不聽從父母的話，他們雖然懲戒他，他還是不聽從他們，

「如果一個人的兒子冥頑不靈、悖逆成性、屢教不改，

“如果人有忤逆倔強的兒子，不聽從父母的話；父母管教他以後，他還是不聽從；

『人若有倔強悖逆的兒子，不聽從他父親的話或母親的話；他們雖懲罰他，他還是不聽從；

人有悖逆之子、不聽父母之言、雖責之仍不聽、

人有悖逆之子、父母督責不聽其言。

人有忤逆之子、不聽父母言、雖加譴責、仍不聽從、

If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,

“ Suppose a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father or mother and doesn’t listen to them even after they discipline him,

“ If any person has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father or his mother, and when they discipline him, he does not listen to them,

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not heed them,

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, that will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, will not hearken unto them;

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father or mother and doesn’t listen to them even after they discipline him,

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and[ that], when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

If a person has a stubborn, rebellious son who pays no attention to his father or mother, and they discipline him to no avail,

If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and though they chasten him, will not listen to them,

“ Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long time in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“‘ All of you must have respect for your mother and father. You must always keep my Sabbath days. I am the Lord your God.

“ May anyone who brings shame on their father or mother be under the Lord’ s curse.” Then all the people will say,“ Amen!”

Children, obey your parents as believers in the Lord. Obey them because it’s the right thing to do.Scripture says,“ Honor your father and mother.” That is the first commandment that has a promise.“ Then things will go well with you. You will live a long time on the earth.”( Deuteronomy 5:16)

Train your children, because then there is hope. Don’t do anything to bring about their deaths.

Listen to me, you heavens! Pay attention to me, earth! The Lord has said,“ I raised children. I brought them up. But they have refused to obey me.

Children are going to do foolish things. But correcting them will drive that foolishness far away.

My son, listen to your father’s advice. Don’t turn away from your mother’s teaching.

“ I destroyed some of you, just as I did Sodom and Gomorrah. You were like a burning stick that was pulled out of the fire. In spite of that, you still have not returned to me,” announces the Lord.“ So, people of Israel, I will judge you. Because I will do that to you, Israel, prepare to meet your God!”

Here is what I want you to know in your hearts. The Lord your God guides you, just as parents guide their children.

“ I have heard the groans of Ephraim’s people. They say,‘ You corrected us like a calf you were training. And we have been trained. Bring us back to you, and we will come back. You are the Lord our God.

Anyone who steals from their parents and says,“ It’s not wrong,” is just like someone who destroys.

They have made fun of fathers and mothers alike. They have crushed outsiders. They have treated badly the children whose fathers have died. They have done the same thing to widows.

Don’t hold back correction from a child. If you correct them, they won’t die.So correct them. Then you will save them from death.

Those who don’t correct their children hate them. But those who love them are careful to correct them.

If you correct your children, they will give you peace. They will bring you the delights you desire.

I will be his father. And he will be my son. When he does what is wrong, I will use other men to beat him with rods and whips.

“ Jerusalem, you are really impure. I tried to clean you up. But you would not let me make you pure. So you will not be clean again until I am no longer so angry with you.

Israel, why do you want to be beaten all the time? Why do you always refuse to obey the Lord? Your head is covered with wounds. Your whole heart is weak.

A foolish person turns their back on their parent’s correction. But anyone who accepts correction shows understanding.

Lord, don’t your eyes look for truth? You struck down your people. But they didn’t feel any pain. You crushed them. But they refused to be corrected. They made their faces harder than stone. They refused to turn away from their sins.

“ Anyone who asks for something bad to happen to their father or mother must be put to death.

“ Some people curse their fathers. Others don’t bless their mothers.

“‘ Suppose a priest’s daughter makes herself“ unclean” by becoming a prostitute. Then she brings shame on her father. She must be burned to death.

Besides, we have all had human fathers who trained us. We respected them for it. How much more should we be trained by the Father of spirits and live!Our parents trained us for a little while. They did what they thought was best. But God trains us for our good. He does this so we may share in his holiness.No training seems pleasant at the time. In fact, it seems painful. But later on it produces a harvest of godliness and peace. It does this for those who have been trained by it.

“ One person makes fun of their father. Another doesn’t honor their mother when she is old. The ravens of the valley will peck out their eyes. Then the vultures will eat them.

If anyone asks for bad things to happen to their father or mother, that person’s lamp will be blown out in total darkness.

“ Anyone who attacks their father or mother must be put to death.
