When you go to war against your enemies and see chariotry and troops who outnumber you, do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, is with you.

When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.

When you go to war against your enemies, you might see that they have horses and chariots. They might even have an army stronger than yours. But don’t be afraid of them. The Lord your God will be with you. After all, he brought you up out of Egypt.

“ When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

“ Be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic because of the king of Assyria and this huge army that is with him! We have with us one who is stronger than those who are with him.He has with him mere human strength, but the LORD our God is with us to help us and fight our battles!” The army was encouraged by the words of King Hezekiah of Judah.

The LORD is indeed going before you– he will be with you; he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the LORD our God.

Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or tremble before them, for the LORD your God is the one who is going with you. He will not fail you or abandon you!”

Those who go down to Egypt for help are as good as dead, those who rely on war horses, and trust in Egypt’s many chariots and in their many, many horsemen. But they do not rely on the Holy One of Israel and do not seek help from the LORD.

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

No one will be able to resist you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not abandon you or leave you alone.

You will be broken, O nations; you will be shattered! Pay attention, all you distant lands of the earth! Get ready for battle, and you will be shattered! Get ready for battle, and you will be shattered!Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted! Issue your orders, but they will not be executed! For God is with us!

When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.

Asa prayed to the LORD his God:“ O LORD, there is no one but you who can help the weak when they are vastly outnumbered. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on you and have marched on your behalf against this huge army. O LORD our God, don’t let men prevail against you!”

The LORD’s messenger appeared and said to him,“ The LORD is with you, courageous warrior!”

The LORD is on my side, I am not afraid! What can people do to me?

Our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless against this huge army that attacks us! We don’t know what we should do; we look to you for help.”

The LORD who commands armies is on our side! The God of Jacob is our protector!( Selah)

I also commanded Joshua at the same time,“ You have seen everything the LORD your God did to these two kings; he will do the same to all the kingdoms where you are going.Do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God will personally fight for you.”

For this reason the sovereign master himself will give you a confirming sign. Look, this young woman is about to conceive and will give birth to a son. You, young woman, will name him Immanuel.

I repeat, be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, for I, the LORD your God, am with you in all you do.”

So the five Amorite kings( the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon) and all their troops gathered together and advanced. They deployed their troops and fought against Gibeon.The men of Gibeon sent this message to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal,“ Do not abandon your subjects! Rescue us! Help us! For all the Amorite kings living in the hill country are attacking us.”So Joshua and his whole army, including the bravest warriors, marched up from Gilgal.The LORD told Joshua,“ Don’t be afraid of them, for I am handing them over to you. Not one of them can resist you.”

The LORD who commands armies is on our side! The God of Jacob is our protector!( Selah)

Through your messengers you taunted the sovereign master,‘ With my many chariots I climbed up the high mountains, the slopes of Lebanon. I cut down its tall cedars and its best evergreens. I invaded its most remote regions, its thickest woods.I dug wells and drank water. With the soles of my feet I dried up all the rivers of Egypt.’

These kings came out with their armies; they were as numerous as the sand on the seashore and had a large number of horses and chariots.All these kings gathered and joined forces at the Waters of Merom to fight Israel.The LORD told Joshua,“ Don’t be afraid of them, for about this time tomorrow I will cause all of them to lie dead before Israel. You must hamstring their horses and burn their chariots.”

All along the way I, the LORD your God, have blessed your every effort. I have been attentive to your travels through this great wasteland. These forty years I have been with you; you have lacked for nothing.’”

When the LORD your God brings you to the land that you are going to occupy and forces out many nations before you– Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and powerful than you–

He has not looked on iniquity in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The LORD their God is with them; his acclamation as king is among them.

No king is delivered by his vast army; a warrior is not saved by his great might.A horse disappoints those who trust in it for victory; despite its great strength, it cannot deliver.

The Israelites cried out for help to the LORD, because Sisera had nine hundred chariots with iron-rimmed wheels, and he cruelly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years.Now Deborah, a prophetess, wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time.She would sit under the Date Palm Tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the Ephraimite hill country. The Israelites would come up to her to have their disputes settled.She summoned Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali. She said to him,“ Is it not true that the LORD God of Israel is commanding you? Go, march to Mount Tabor! Take with you ten thousand men from Naphtali and Zebulun!I will bring Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army, to you at the Kishon River, along with his chariots and huge army. I will hand him over to you.”Barak said to her,“ If you go with me, I will go. But if you do not go with me, I will not go.”She said,“ I will indeed go with you. But you will not gain fame on the expedition you are undertaking, for the LORD will turn Sisera over to a woman.” Deborah got up and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Stay in this land. Then I will be with you and will bless you, for I will give all these lands to you and to your descendants, and I will fulfill the solemn promise I made to your father Abraham.

Joshua did to them as the LORD had commanded him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots.
