Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own.

至高者將地業賜給列國，將世人分開，他按照神明的數目，為萬民劃定疆界。

你必被趕出離開世人，與野地的走獸同住，吃草如牛，讓天上的露水滴濕，且要經過七個時期，直等到你知道至高者在人的國中掌權，要將國賜給誰就賜給誰。

他從一人造出萬族，居住在全地面上，並且預先定準他們的年限和所住的疆界，

我用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造大地和地上的人民、牲畜。我看給誰合適，就把地給誰。

現在，看哪，以色列人出埃及地的時候，你不容許以色列人侵犯亞捫人、摩押人和西珥山人，以色列人就離開他們，不滅絕他們。看哪，他們這樣回報我們，要來驅逐我們離開你賜給我們為業之地。我們的上帝啊，你不懲罰他們嗎？因為我們無力抵擋這來攻擊我們的大軍。我們不知道該怎麼做，我們的眼目單仰望你。」

在這裏上帝並沒有給他產業，連立足的地方都沒有，但應許要將這地賜給他和他的後裔為業，雖然那時他還沒有兒子。
