Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own.

把雅各和以扫赐给以撒，把西珥山赐给以扫作产业，雅各和他的子孙则去了埃及。

于是以扫，即以东，搬到了西珥山居住。

你必从人群中被赶走，与野兽同住，像牛一样吃草，达七年之久，直到你知道至高者主宰世上万国，祂要把国赐给谁就赐给谁。”

当初，至高者赐万国产业，把人类分开，祂依照天使的数目，为万族定疆界。

祂从一人造出万族，让他们散居世界各地，又预先定下他们的期限和居住的疆界，

我伸出大能的臂膀创造了大地、地上的人类和动物，我想把大地赐给谁就赐给谁。

“从前以色列人离开埃及的时候，你不准他们侵犯亚扪人、摩押人和来自西珥山的人，他们就绕道而行，没有毁灭这些人。但现在这些人要报复我们，把我们从你赐给我们作产业的地方赶走。我们的上帝啊，难道你不惩罚他们吗？面对前来攻击的大军，我们无力抵挡，不知道该怎么办，我们只有仰望你。”

当时在这片土地上，上帝没有给他任何产业，他甚至连立足之地也没有。但上帝应许要把这片土地赐给他和他的后裔作产业，尽管那时候亚伯拉罕还没有儿子。
