待遇我儕、若居西珥之以掃子孫、居亞珥之摩押人所為、迨我渡約但、至我上帝耶和華賜我之地、

渡約但河、至我上帝耶和華賜我之地。昔以掃後裔、居於西耳、摩押人民、居於亞耳、所行俱亦如是。

as the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us— until we cross the Jordan into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

The people of Esau, who live in Seir, allowed us to do that. The people of Moab, who live in Ar, also allowed us to do it. So let us walk through until we go across the Jordan River. Then we’ll be able to go into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

遣使往見以東王告之曰、求爾容我過爾境、以東王不允、又遣使往見摩押王、告以此言、摩押王亦不允、故以色列人居迦叠、遂復行曠野、遶以東地及摩押地、由摩押東而來、在亞嫩溪潰列營、並不入摩押境、蓋亞嫩素為摩押之界、

以東王曰、爾不可過我境、恐我出以刃擊爾、

亞捫人摩押人不可入主之會、即至十代、至於永遠、不可入主之會、因昔爾出伊及時、時或作後彼不以餅與水來迎爾於道、亦因以金賄兩河間亞蘭之比奪人比珥子巴蘭來詛爾、

爾當知主爾之天主非為爾善、以此美地賜爾為業、爾實為強項之民、

摩西申命曰、以色列人歟、我今所教爾遵守之律例法度、宜聽從、如是可生、得入爾祖之天主耶和華所賜爾之地、獲以為業、

主諭我曰、勿以摩押人為敵、勿與戰爭、我不以其地賜爾為業、因我已將亞珥賜羅得子孫為業、○

當用較準公平之權衡、較準公平之量器、則可長居於主爾天主所賜爾之地、

爾遍行營中諭民曰、當備餱糧、蓋三日內將渡此約但、入主爾之天主所賜爾為業之地、據而有之、時、約書亞告流便人、迦得人、及瑪拿西半支派人、曰、當追念主之僕摩西所諭爾之言云、主爾之天主之已賜安於爾、以斯地賜爾、爾妻與幼穉及群畜、可留於約但東、摩西所予爾之地、爾中所有戰士、當執兵刃、行於爾兄弟前以助之、迨主賜安於爾兄弟、與爾無異、並獲主爾之天主所賜之之地、然後可歸爾曹所得之地、即主之僕摩西在約但東所予爾者、據而有之、

我今日所傳於爾主之律例誡命、爾當遵守、則爾與子孫皆可得福、亦可久居於主爾天主所賜之地、○

遵爾天主耶和華所命、敬爾父母、使爾可久居享福於爾天主耶和華所賜爾之地、

主緣爾曹故、怒我而誓、必不容我渡約但、入主爾之天主所賜爾為業之美地、

當敬爾父母、使爾可久居於爾天主耶和華所賜爾之地、
