This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.”

This very day I will bring fear and terror on all the nations because of you. They will hear about you. They will tremble with fear. Pain and suffering will grip them because of you.”

必沒有一人能在你們面前站立得住；耶和華你們的神，必照著他對你們所說的，使害怕和驚懼你們的心臨到你們將要踏足之地的居民。

萬民聽見，就必戰抖；疼痛恐懼抓住了非利士的居民。那時，以東的族長驚惶，摩押的英雄被戰兢抓住，所有迦南的居民都膽戰心寒。恐懼戰兢臨到他們身上；因著你大能的手臂，他們像石頭一樣寂然不動；直到你的人民過去，耶和華啊，直到你買贖的人民過去。

地上萬民見你被稱為耶和華名下的人，就必懼怕你。

我必在你面前展露我的威嚴；凡你所到的地方，我必使那裡的人民慌亂，又使你所有的仇敵都轉背而逃。

看哪！從撒但的一黨，就是自稱是猶太人，其實不是猶太人，而是說謊的人中，我要使他們一些人來在你腳前下拜，並且知道我已經愛了你。

他們出來的時候，埃及人很歡喜，因為埃及人都懼怕他們。

他們回答約書亞，說：“因為你的僕人確實地聽見，耶和華你的神曾經吩咐他的僕人摩西，要把這整片土地賜給你們，並且要在你們面前把這地上所有的居民都消滅，因此，我們因你們的緣故，很怕喪命，才行了這事。

因為主使亞蘭人的軍隊聽見戰車、戰馬和大軍的聲音；他們就彼此說：“看哪，一定是以色列王雇用了赫人的眾王和埃及人的眾王來攻擊我們。”於是他們在黃昏的時候起來逃跑，他們丟下他們的帳幕，他們的馬匹和他們的驢子；軍營仍在那裡，他們卻只顧逃命去了。

這城必在地上萬國面前使我得名聲，得喜樂（按照《馬索拉文本》，“得名聲，得喜樂”應作“得喜樂的名聲”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），得頌讚，得榮耀，因為萬國必聽見我向這城的人所施的一切福樂。他們因我向這城所施的一切福樂和平安，就都恐懼戰兢。’

對他們二人說：“我知道耶和華已經把這地賜給你們了，你們使我們十分害怕，這地所有的居民都在你們面前膽戰心驚。因為我們聽見你們從埃及出來的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海的水在你們面前乾了，以及你們怎樣對待約旦河東亞摩利人的兩個王西宏和噩，把他們完全消滅。我們聽見了，就都心裡驚怕；沒有一人再有勇氣在你們面前站立；因為耶和華你們的神是天上、也是地上的神。現在求你們指著耶和華向我起誓：我既然恩待了你們，你們也要恩待我的父家，並且給我一個確實的憑據，
