This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.”

所到之处无人能抵挡你们，因为你们的上帝耶和华会使那些地方的人对你们充满惧怕，正如祂对你们的应许。

各邦各族听见这些事就发抖，非利士人也痛苦不堪，以东的族长惶恐，摩押的英雄颤栗，迦南的居民都胆战心惊。惊骇恐惧笼罩着他们。耶和华啊，你臂膀的大能吓得他们僵立如石，直到你的子民都安然走过，直到你买赎的子民都安然走过。

天下万民将看出你们是耶和华的子民，并惧怕你们。

你所到之处，我必使那里的人惶恐不安，使你一切的仇敌都在你面前转身逃跑。

看啊！我要使撒旦的同伙，就是那些假冒犹太人的说谎者，在你面前俯伏下拜，让他们知道你是我所疼爱的。

埃及人惧怕他们，乐见他们离去。

他们答道：“仆人们这样做是因为害怕丧命。我们听说你的上帝耶和华曾经应许祂仆人摩西，要把这整片土地都赐给你们，并要将这里的居民杀尽。

原来，主使亚兰人听见大队人马和战车的声音。他们以为以色列王雇用了赫人的诸王和埃及人的诸王来攻营，便在傍晚时分撇下帐篷、马和驴，弃营而逃。

这城要使我在天下万国面前得到尊崇、颂赞和荣耀。万民听见我使这城繁荣昌盛，都恐惧战栗。’”

“我知道耶和华已经把这地方赐给你们，我们十分害怕。这里所有的居民都吓得胆战心惊。因为你们离开埃及过红海的时候，耶和华怎样使红海在你们面前成为干地，你们怎样对付约旦河东的两个亚摩利王西宏和噩，怎样把他们彻底消灭，我们都听说了。我们听了这些事，感到心惊胆战、勇气尽失。你们的上帝耶和华是天地万物的上帝。我既然恩待了你们，现在请你们凭耶和华向我起誓，你们也照样恩待我家，并且给我一个可靠的凭据，
