Thirty-eight years passed from the time we left Kadesh Barnea until we crossed the Zered Valley. By then, that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.

Between the time we left Kadesh Barnea and the time we went across the Zered Valley, 38 years had passed. By then, all the fighting men who had been in our camp from the beginning had died. The Lord had warned them that it would happen.

And the time from our leaving Kadesh-barnea until we crossed the brook Zered was thirty-eight years, until the entire generation, that is, the men of war, had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.

“ Thirty eight years passed from the time we first left Kadesh barnea until we finally crossed the Zered Brook! By then, all the men old enough to fight in battle had died in the wilderness, as the Lord had vowed would happen.

The time we spent traveling from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed the Zered Valley was thirty-eight years until the entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the LORD had sworn to them.

Now the time that it took for us to come from Kadesh barnea until we crossed over the Wadi Zered was thirty eight years, until all the generation of the men of war perished from within the camp, just as the Lord had sworn to them.

And the time we took to come from Kadesh Barnea until we crossed over the Valley of the Zered was thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war was consumed from the midst of the camp, just as the Lord had sworn to them.

And the days in which we came from Kadesh- barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah sware unto them.

And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered,[ was] thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.

Now the length of time it took for us to go from Kadesh Barnea to the crossing of Wadi Zered was thirty-eight years, time for all the military men of that generation to die, just as the LORD had vowed to them.

The days in which we came from Kadesh Barnea until we had come over the brook Zered were thirty- eight years: until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the middle of the camp, as Yahweh swore to them.

耶和華聞爾言、怒而誓曰、昔我誓以沃壤賜爾祖、此惡世之人、必無一得見者、

我復在野發誓、必不導之入我所賜流乳與蜜之地、即諸地之美者、

至巴蘭野之加低斯、見摩西亞倫、及以色列會眾、告以諸事、以厥土之菓示之、

自何烈啟行、經西珥山、至加低斯巴尼亞、歷程十有一日、

厥後、我儕遵我上帝耶和華命、自何烈啟行、經歷曠野、大而可畏、爾所目睹、道由亞摩利山地、至加低斯巴尼亞、

當告之曰、耶和華云、我指己生以誓、必依爾言而行、爾尸必僵於斯野、爾中見核而怨我者、自二十歲以上、俱不得入、我誓賜爾以居之地、惟耶孚尼子迦勒、及嫩之子約書亞入之、爾之幼穉、爾言將被虜者、我必導入、得識爾所蔑視之土、惟爾之尸、必僵於野、爾之子女、緣爾狥欲、必負其罪、流離於野、歷四十年、迨爾尸骸消滅、爾窺厥地、歷四十日、今將以日易年、爾負其罪、歷四十載、使知我離逖焉、我耶和華既言之、必行之於此惡會眾、集攻我者、俾其亡於斯野、盡皆消滅、

然其人多為上帝所不悅、故傾覆於野、

我之時日、度於爾怒、畢我歲月、如歎息之發兮、

於是爾居加低斯、積有多日、

爾使人歸於土、曰爾世人其旋返兮、

勿剛愎乃心、猶昔之激怒、即試我於野之日、爾列祖試我驗我、歷四十年、視我所為、故我不悅此代之人曰、其心常迷、不識我路、我怒而誓曰、彼必不入我之安息也、兄弟乎、爾宜慎、免爾中或懷不信之惡心、背維生之上帝、乘有今日、宜日相勸勉、免爾中有因罪惡之詭謀、以致剛愎、蓋我儕若持守初信、鞏固至終、則可與於基督矣、故曰、爾今日若聞其言、勿剛愎乃心、猶昔激怒時也、其聞而激怒者誰耶、非從摩西出埃及之眾乎、又四十年彼所不悅者誰耶、非干罰而屍仆於野者乎、又誓之不得入其安息者誰耶、非不順從者乎、由是觀之、彼不得入、不信故也、

爾雖悉知之、我今欲令爾憶之、即主救民出埃及地、後滅其不信者、

彼遂舉手而誓曰、必仆之於野、

出埃及之眾、自二十歲以上者、既不專從乎我、皆不獲見我所誓於亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之地、
