When the Lord your God has destroyed the nations whose land he is giving you, and when you have driven them out and settled in their towns and houses,

『永恆主你的上帝將你所要進去趕出的列國人從你面前剪滅了以後，你已經取得了他們的地去居住了，

『永恆主你的上帝領你進他向你列祖、亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、起誓應許給你的地；那裏有城市、又大又美好、不是你建造的，

『儘你們活在地上的一切日子、在永恆主你列祖的上帝所賜給你去取得為業的地上、你們所要謹慎遵行的律例典章、乃是這一些。

『永恆主你的上帝領你進入你正要去而取得為業之地，從你面前肅清了許多國的人、就是赫人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人、七國的人，都比你多、比你強；永恆主你的上帝將他們交在你面前去擊敗的時候，你務要把他們都盡行殺滅歸神；不可和他們立約，也不可恩待他們。

『你進了永恆主你的上帝所賜給你去取得而居住的地那時候，若說：「我要立王管理我、像我四圍的列國一樣」；
