If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

Sometimes a prophet will announce something in the name of the Lord. And it won’t take place or come true. Then that’s a message the Lord hasn’t told him to speak. That prophet has dared to speak on his own authority. So don’t be afraid of what he says.

when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

那些日子，希西家病得要死，亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞先知來見他，對他說：「耶和華如此說：『你當留遺囑給你的家，因為你必死，不能活了。』」

當年，就是猶大王西底家登基第四年五月，押朔的兒子基遍人哈拿尼雅先知，在耶和華的殿中當着祭司和眾百姓的面對我說：「萬軍之耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：我已經折斷巴比倫王的軛。二年之內，我要將巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從這地擄掠到巴比倫的器皿，就是耶和華殿中的一切器皿，都帶回此地。我又要將約雅敬的兒子猶大王耶哥尼雅和被擄到巴比倫所有的猶大人帶回此地，因為我要折斷巴比倫王的軛。這是耶和華說的。」耶利米先知當着祭司和站在耶和華殿裏眾百姓的面，對哈拿尼雅先知說：「阿們！願耶和華如此行，願耶和華實現你所預言的話，將耶和華殿中的器皿和所有被擄去的人從巴比倫帶回此地。然而我在你和眾百姓耳中所要說的話，你應當聽。從古以來，在你我以前的眾先知，向多國和大邦說預言，論到戰爭、災禍、瘟疫的事。至於那預言平安的先知，到先知的話應驗的時候，人就知道他真是耶和華所差來的。」哈拿尼雅先知就取下耶利米先知頸項上的軛，把它折斷。哈拿尼雅又當着眾百姓的面說：「耶和華如此說：二年之內我必照樣從列國的頸項上折斷巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的軛。」耶利米先知就離開了。哈拿尼雅先知折斷耶利米先知頸項上的軛以後，耶和華的話臨到耶利米，說：「你去告訴哈拿尼雅說，耶和華如此說：你折斷木軛，卻換來鐵軛！萬軍之耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：我已將鐵軛加在這些國的頸項上，使他們服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒。他們總要服事他，我也把野地的走獸給了他。」於是耶利米先知對哈拿尼雅先知說：「哈拿尼雅啊，你應當聽！耶和華並沒有差遣你，你竟使這百姓倚靠謊言。所以耶和華如此說：看哪，我要把你從地面上除掉，你今年必死，因為你向耶和華說了叛逆的話。」這樣，哈拿尼雅先知當年七月間就死了。

你們的祖先在哪裏呢？那些先知能永遠存活嗎？然而我的言語和律例，就是我所吩咐我僕人眾先知的，豈不臨到你們的祖先嗎？他們就回轉，說：萬軍之耶和華定意按我們的所作所為對待我們，他也已經照樣行了。」

讓它們近前來，告訴我們將來要發生甚麼事！你們要說明先前發生的事，好讓我們思索；或者告訴我們將來的事，使我們得知事情的結局。

約拿進城，走了一天，宣告說：「再過四十天，尼尼微要傾覆了！」

詛咒不會無故臨到，正如麻雀掠過，燕子翻飛。

他就向耶和華禱告，說：「耶和華啊，這不就是我仍在本國的時候所說的嗎？我知道你是有恩惠，有憐憫的上帝，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且會改變心意，不降那災難。我就是因為這樣，才急速逃往他施去的呀！

「你中間若有先知或是做夢的人起來，向你顯神蹟奇事，他對你說的神蹟奇事應驗了，說：『我們去隨從別神，事奉它們吧。』那是你不認識的。
