“‘不过，如果有先知擅自奉我的名，说我没有吩咐他说的话，或是奉别神的名说话，那先知就必须处死。’

若有先知擅敢託我的名說我所未曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必治死。』

若有先知擅自奉我的名說了我未曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必處死。』

但先知擅藉我名、言我所未嘗諭者、或藉他上帝之名而言、則必死亡。

如有先知擅藉我名、言我所未命其宣傳之言、或藉異邦之神而言、彼先知當誅、

But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”

But suppose a prophet dares to speak in my name something I have not commanded. Or he speaks in the name of other gods. Then that prophet must be put to death.”

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’

But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.’

『你們中間若有神言人或是作夢的起來，給你一個神迹或奇事；那神迹或奇事應驗了；他就對你講到這事說：「我們去隨從別的神，服事他們吧」；這些神是你素來所不認識的；你不可聽那神言人或那作夢的人的話；因為永恆主你們的上帝在試驗着你們、要知道你們是不是真地全心全意愛永恆主你們的上帝。你們要跟從永恆主你們的上帝，敬畏他，遵守他的誡命，聽他的聲音，事奉他，緊依附着他。至於那神言人或那作夢的，則必須被處死，因為他說了叛逆的話背叛着永恆主你們的上帝、那領你們出埃及地，贖救你脫離為奴之家的上帝，要勾引你離開永恆主你的上帝所吩咐你走的道路。這樣你就把那壞事從你中間肅清了。

將來若再有人傳假神言，生他的父親或母親就須要對他說：『你不該活着，因為你冒永恆主的名說假話」；生他的父親或母親在他傳假神言時、必將他刺透。

在撒瑪利亞的神言人之中我見過令人作嘔的事：他們靠着巴力而傳神言，使我人民以色列走錯了路。但在耶路撒冷的神言人之中我竟見過令人不寒而慄的事：他們居然行姦淫，行虛假事；又加強作壞事者的手，以致無人回轉離開壞事：他們在我面前都像所多瑪，其居民正像蛾摩拉。』因此萬軍之永恆主論到這些神言人是這麼說的：『看吧，我必將苦堇給他們喫，將毒苦水給他們喝；因為有褻瀆上帝的事從耶路撒冷的神言人發出，傳到遍地。』

以利亞對他們說：『將巴力的神言人捉住；一個也不可讓逃脫。』眾人就把他們捉住；以利亞將他們帶下去到基順谿谷中，在那裏把他們宰殺掉。

因為永恆主發神諭說，我並沒有差遣他們，是他們冒我的名去傳假神言，使我將你們、和那些向你們傳神言的人、都放逐出去一同滅亡。』

但這些人呢、像無理性的畜生，屬獸性、為被捉拿和敗壞而生的！在不知不懂的事上他們竟毁謗，他們必在他們的敗壞中被敗壞；

於是神言人耶利米對神言人哈拿尼雅說：『哈拿尼雅啊，你要聽；永恆主並沒有差遣你；你、竟使這人民倚靠着虛假。因此永恆主這麼說：「看吧，我必打發你離開塵世；就在今年、你就一定死；因為你說了叛逆永恆主的話。」』就在那年七月間、神言人哈拿尼雅就死了。

於是永恆主對我說：『那些神言人是冒我名傳虛假為神言的；我並沒有差遣他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們發神言狂的乃是虛假的異象、無用的占卜、和他們自己心裏的詭詐。因此永恆主這麼說：論到那些冒我名來傳講的神言人，我沒有差遣他們，而他們還說「這地必不會遭遇刀劍和饑荒」的，那些神言人自己倒要被刀劍和饑荒滅絕呢。

到了正午、以利亞戲弄他們、說：『大聲呼求吧；因為他是神；他或者在默想，或者曾退到一邊，或者在路上，又萬一是在睡覺呢！那就該叫醒過來呀！』

祭司都不查問說：「永恆主在哪裏？」那些處理禮節規矩的都不認識我，牧民者都悖逆了我；神言人藉着巴力去傳神言，隨從着無益的神。

那獸被逮，那假神言人、就是那在獸面前行過神迹、用神迹迷惑了受獸印記和拜獸像的人的、也和獸一同被逮；這兩個活活地丟在那有硫磺燒着的火湖裏。

這些人所說的是虛謊的異象、是謊詐的占卜；他們說：「這是永恆主發神諭說的」，其實永恆主並沒有差遣他們，他們倒指望那話能應驗呢！

現在你要差遣人集合以色列人、和巴力的神言人四百五十個、以及亞舍拉的神言人四百個、都上迦密山去見我。』

你看，永恆主發神諭說，那些神言人拿口舌發神諭說，是永恆主發神諭說的，我總跟他們作對。

『你們要注意提防假的神言人；那種人到你們這裏來，打扮得像羊，裏面卻是勒索的狼。
