This is what you requested from the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said,‘ Let us not continue to hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire any longer, so that we will not die!’

For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said,“ Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.”

At Mount Horeb you asked the Lord your God for a prophet. You asked him on the day you gathered together. You said,“ We don’t want to hear the voice of the Lord our God. We don’t want to see this great fire anymore. If we do, we’ll die.”

just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said,‘ Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’

For this is what you yourselves requested of the Lord your God when you were assembled at Mount Sinai. You said,‘ Don’t let us hear the voice of the Lord our God anymore or see this blazing fire, for we will die.’

This is in accordance with everything that you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying,‘ Do not let me hear the voice of the Lord my God again, and do not let me see this great fire anymore, or I will die!’

according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying,‘ Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’

according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

This accords with what happened at Horeb in the day of the assembly. You asked the LORD your God:“ Please do not make us hear the voice of the LORD our God any more or see this great fire any more lest we die.”

This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying,“ Let me not hear again Yahweh my God’s voice, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”

“ You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses,“ but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”

On the day of the assembly the LORD gave me the two stone tablets, inscribed by God’s finger. The exact words were on them, which the LORD spoke to you from the fire on the mountain.

All of you approached me with your tribal leaders and elders when you heard the voice from the darkness and while the mountain was blazing with fire.You said,‘ Look, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that God speaks with a person, yet he still lives.But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us and we will die if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any longer.For who out of all humanity has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the fire, as we have, and lived?Go near and listen to everything the LORD our God says. Then you can tell us everything the LORD our God tells you; we will listen and obey.’“ The LORD heard your words when you spoke to me. He said to me,‘ I have heard the words that these people have spoken to you. Everything they have said is right.
