因為祭司嘴裏應當保存着知識，人也應該從他口中尋求禮節規矩，因為他是萬軍之永恆主的使者。

那麼、彼此爭訟的這兩個人就要站在永恆主面前、在當日做祭司做審判官者面前。審判官要仔細查究；如果那見證人是個假的見證人作假見證控訴他的族弟兄，那麼你們就要照他所圖謀要待族弟兄的去待他；這樣、你就把那壞事從你中間肅清了。其餘的人聽見，就會懼怕，再也不敢在你中間行這樣的壞事了。你的眼不可顧惜他；要以命償命，以眼還眼，以牙還牙，以手還手，以腳還腳。
