The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you,“ You are not to go back that way again.”

The king must not get large numbers of horses for himself. He must not make the people return to Egypt to get more horses. The Lord has told you,“ You must not go back there again.”

Only he must not acquire many horses for himself or cause the people to return to Egypt in order to acquire many horses, since the Lord has said to you,‘ You shall never return that way again.’

“ The king must not build up a large stable of horses for himself or send his people to Egypt to buy horses, for the Lord has told you,‘ You must never return to Egypt.’

However, he must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire many horses, for the LORD has told you,‘ You are never to go back that way again.’

In any case, he is not to acquire many horses for himself, nor shall he make the people return to Egypt in order to acquire many horses, since the Lord has said to you,‘ You shall never again return that way.’

But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the Lord has said to you,‘ You shall not return that way again.’

Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; forasmuch as Jehovah hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

However, he must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire many horses, for the Lord has told you,‘ You are never to go back that way again.’

所羅門有四萬匹拉戰車的馬，一萬二千名騎兵。

「他們要返回埃及，亞述要統治他們，因為他們不肯歸向我。

摩西對百姓說：「你們不用害怕，站穩了，看耶和華用什麼方法解救你們。你們再也看不到你們今天看到的埃及人了。

俘獲一千七百名騎兵和兩萬名步兵，砍斷拉戰車的馬匹的蹄筋，只留下夠拉一百輛戰車的馬匹。

「將來管轄你們的王會徵用你們的兒子做他的戰車兵、騎兵，要他們跑在他的戰車前面。

所羅門有四千個安置戰車和馬匹的棚，有一萬二千名騎兵，駐紮在屯車城和他所在的耶路撒冷。

所羅門組建了戰車和騎兵，有一千四百輛戰車、一萬二千名騎兵，駐紮在屯車城和他所在的耶路撒冷。王使耶路撒冷的金銀多如石頭，使香柏木多如丘陵的無花果樹。所羅門的馬匹都是由王室商隊從埃及和古厄按定價買來的。

耶和華為什麼把我們領到這裡來，讓我們死於刀下？我們的妻兒必被擄去。我們還不如返回埃及。」他們彼此議論說：「我們選一位首領帶我們回埃及吧！」

我們不再向亞述求救，不再依靠戰馬，也不再稱自己所造的神像為我們的上帝。耶和華啊，只有在你那裡，孤兒才能得到憐憫。」

那時，哈姬的兒子亞多尼雅妄自尊大，說：「我必做王。」他為自己製備了車輛和騎兵，派五十人在前面開路。

那些到埃及尋求幫助的人有禍了！他們仰賴戰馬，倚靠眾多的戰車和強壯的騎兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，不尋求耶和華。然而，耶和華有智慧，會降災，從不收回自己的話。祂必懲罰惡人之家及其幫兇。埃及人不過是人，並非上帝；埃及的戰馬是血肉之軀，並非神靈。耶和華一伸手，那些幫兇必踉蹌，受幫助的必跌倒，他們必一同滅亡。

來，跟我主人亞述王打個賭，你若能找到兩千騎士，我就給你兩千匹馬！你們即使依靠埃及的戰車和騎兵，又怎能打敗我主人的一個最小的將領呢？

有人靠戰車，有人靠戰馬，但我們靠的是我們的上帝耶和華的名。

非要去埃及住，以為那裡沒有戰爭，聽不見號角聲，也不會忍饑挨餓，那麼，你們這些猶大的餘民就要聽聽耶和華的話。以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說，『如果你們決意去埃及住，你們所害怕的戰爭和饑荒必緊緊地跟著你們。你們必死在埃及。
