“ You must keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you; do this at the appointed time of the month Abib, for in the month Abib you came out of Egypt.

They may observe it on the fourteenth day of the second month at twilight; they are to eat it with bread made without yeast and with bitter herbs.

They will eat the meat the same night; they will eat it roasted over the fire with bread made without yeast and with bitter herbs.

For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, for whoever eats what is made with yeast– that person will be cut off from the community of Israel, whether a foreigner or one born in the land.You will not eat anything made with yeast; in all the places where you live you must eat bread made without yeast.’”

“ I will pour out on the kingship of David and the population of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication so that they will look to me, the one they have pierced. They will lament for him as one laments for an only son, and there will be a bitter cry for him like the bitter cry for a firstborn.

He does amazing things that will be remembered; the LORD is merciful and compassionate.

Say,‘ This is what the king says,“ Put this man in prison. Give him only a little bread and water until I safely return.”’”

This is how you are to eat it– dressed to travel, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in haste. It is the LORD’S Passover.

And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, when you received the message with joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, despite great affliction.

It is vain for you to rise early, come home late, and work so hard for your food. Yes, he can provide for those whom he loves even when they sleep.

And on the fifteenth day of this month is the festival. For seven days bread made without yeast must be eaten.

Also, take your flocks and your herds, just as you have requested, and leave. But bless me also.”The Egyptians were urging the people on, in order to send them out of the land quickly, for they were saying,“ We are all dead!”

Then he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying,“ This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

This day will become a memorial for you, and you will celebrate it as a festival to the LORD– you will celebrate it perpetually as a lasting ordinance.For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. Surely on the first day you must put away yeast from your houses because anyone who eats bread made with yeast from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off from Israel.

Moses said to the people,“ Remember this day on which you came out from Egypt, from the place where you were enslaved, for the LORD brought you out of there with a mighty hand– and no bread made with yeast may be eaten.On this day, in the month of Abib, you are going out.When the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, then you will keep this ceremony in this month.For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be a festival to the LORD.Bread made without yeast must be eaten for seven days; no bread made with yeast shall be seen among you, and you must have no yeast among you within any of your borders.You are to tell your son on that day,‘ It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’It will be a sign for you on your hand and a memorial on your forehead, so that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth, for with a mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.

For sadness as intended by God produces a repentance that leads to salvation, leaving no regret, but worldly sadness brings about death.For see what this very thing, this sadness as God intended, has produced in you: what eagerness, what defense of yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what deep concern, what punishment! In everything you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

and after he had given thanks he broke it and said,“ This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”In the same way, he also took the cup after supper, saying,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, every time you drink it, in remembrance of me.”For every time you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Then on the fifteenth day of the same month will be the festival of unleavened bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

For I eat ashes as if they were bread, and mix my drink with my tears,

So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.
